Lullacry - Taking A Fresh Start

Last Friday lead guitarist Sami Vauhkonen issued the following update on the whereabouts of Finnish metal band Lullacry:

"It's been a while since the last update from the Lullacry camp. After a hard and complicated fourth album we took some time off. In 2008 we were ready to record some new material, with a new interesting record deal with quite a big german label. Hiili Hiilesmaa (HIM, Moonspell, Apocalyptica etc.) was going to be the producer for that album.

But then suddenly just before the studio, without any warning we lost the connection to the label. After a couple of months I read from the newspapers that they went bankrupt. Fuck that.

Now when I look back, I can say that it was a blessing in disguise. Compared to the new songs, the older material was not as good. It wasn't the right time I guess...

Now it's a fresh new start. I've written some killer songs and I must say that a new era of Lullacry has begun! We are currently recording a couple of those songs and we'll put them online as soon as possible. Stay tuned and rock with Lullacry!"

The band's latest output, Vol. 4, dates back from 2005. Lullacry are set to play some new tracks live at Dante's Highlight in Helsinki, on Saturday 24 July. The band is currently looking for a label.

Lullacry - New Album To Be Delayed

We just came back from the Astia-studio! Unfortunately we didn´t manage to finish the recordings in time. We have still some guitars and vocals to do. And because we want to make the best fuckin´ album possible, we will continue in the beginning of the next year. At the moment there´s no studio time available, so we have to re-schedule rest of the shit, you know.. So, Good news is that the album definitely rocks like hell but we want to make it HOTTER THAN HELL!!! Bad news is that we are not able to release it in time. We WILL let you know about the new release dates as soon as it´s possible. THANX FOR PATIENCE GUYS AND GALS, I promise we won´t let you down!

Take care & rock on!

- Sami

Lullacry - Finished Recording A New Single

Finland's Lullacry have finished recording their new single, "Stranger In You", at Finnvox studios in Helsinki. "The song is definitely the most '80s we've done to date," guitarist Sami Vauhkonen said in a posting on the band's web site. "Great catchy chorus and massive backing vocals in the vein of Bon Jovi, haha! We got some great help from Heikki of Twilightning."

The "Stranger In You" single will be out worldwide on March 9, 2005 and will also include a cover of Kiss' "I Stole Your Love".

Lullacry are currently recording the follow-up to 2003's "Crucify My Heart", tentatively due in early 2005 through Spinefarm Records in Finland and Century Media Records in other parts of the world. The group issued a five-song EP, "Fire Within", in August, featuring two new songs ("Fire Within" and "The #1 Rebel"), two remakes of classic Lullacry tracks, as well as a cover version of W.A.S.P.'s "L.O.V.E. Machine".
