Doom metallers My Dying Bride are back in the studio to record their 12th full studio album at Academy Studios in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire while the mix and some final edits will take place at Futureworks in Manchester. So, the successor of A Map Of All Our Failures is being conjured up as we speak. The new album is also the first since former guitarist Calvin Robertshaw came back to the band. What are your expectations for the band's next album?
My Dying Bride have announced a change in their line-up. The band split with long-time guitarist Hamish Hamilton Glencross and also confirmed the return of original guitarist Calvin Robertshaw to the fold. The reasons for Hamish's departure were described as "irreconcilable differences" but the British metallers still wish him all the luck with his future endeavours. Also, in case you are wondering, the band already has 7 songs written for their new album and the plan is to record it later this year.

British death/doom metallers My Dying Bride have checked in with the following announcement about recording new material for an upcoming full-length album: "On Sunday April 1st My Dying Bride entered the studio to begin recording their eleventh full length album. It's very early days right now but already things are running smoother than expected which is very encouraging. U.K. death/doom metal pioneers My Dying Bride have announced The Barghest O' Whitby as the title of their new EP, which will be released on November 7th through Peaceville Records on CD and limited vinyl.
My Dying Bride are back in the studio to record a 3 part EP due for release later in the year.
No titles revealed just yet but the news is that it is to be a concept EP of effectively one track of over 25 minutes long split into three acts. Recording is to take place at Futureworks Studio's in late August with long-term sound engineer Mags once again taking the pain.
The new lp is being delayed as the band is simply not ready to record this yet as "things are progressing in a very interesting manner". This release is said to be a precursor of things to come...
Evinta, the long-awaited 20th-Anniversary Collection of My Dying Bride, will be released on May 16th through Peaceville Records.
To commemorate two decades of doom & gloom, My Dying Bride embarked upon a project to re-work familiar melodies & themes from the band's extensive catalogue into long, flowing symphonic compositions, including new vocals & passages from Aaron Stainthorpe.
As previously reported, these arrangements have been brought to life in co-operation with keyboard maestro Johnny Maudling (of Bal-Sagoth fame) and will be released as Evinta, as both a 2 disc & special 3 disc set, each disc its own sprawling classical work spanning a large period of My Dying Bride's album material. The 3 disc set will also be accompanied by a specially limited 72 page hardback book featuring rare images & photographs from the band's personal archive from over the years.
Portuguese metallers Ava Inferi will support the Kings Of Doom, namely My Dying Bride, on their 20th anniversary "Albion In Ruin" Tour 2011.
