23:03 - !J.O.O.E.! Zaph what I meant to say is that to beat a pricey, quality pair of headphones with speakers you'd need to spend thousands on a hi-fi system. So really headphones are the best option.
23:01 - !J.O.O.E.! I think in quality terms it's generally speakers > headphones (probably open back > closed back) > in-ear headphones > earbuds. Apparently though you would need to spend thousands on speakers to beat a £300 pair of headphones.
23:01 - Zaphod Yeah, too bad I can't use my awesome speakers at night. Or on the bus. Believe me, I've tried.
22:57 - Erik M. Well, maybe headphones are generally superior to (in-)earbuds, I could imagine that (and less damaging as well).
22:56 - Redn1ght Some Psychedelic Metal can get bassy.
22:55 - !J.O.O.E.! Regular earbuds never stay in my ears. I didn't think it was even possible to get good sound quality with those things anyway... - I would honestly say metal is one of the least bass-oriented genres there are.
