Sodom are forced to cancel their appearance at the Silesian Massacre Festival in Katowice, Poland this weekend, after guitarist, Bernd "Bernemann" Kost, was rushed to the hospital today.
Sodom's booking agency, Fleisch, issued the following statement: "A few minutes ago I received an upsetting phone call from Tom and Makka as Bernemann has been rushed to hospital. We do not know what exactly has happened as I write this e-mail, he is currently under medical observation in the emergency section to discover exactly what the problem is.
We feel very sorry, but unfortunately and obviously because of the situation as it stands at the moment the band cannot travel to Katowice on Saturday. I know it is not the best time and it is short notice, but the situation as it is with Bernemann leaves the band no choice. I hope for your understanding and I regret that this situation has come about, the band were looking forward to playing at your festival."

These new songs are part of the recording for the band's 20th(!) studio album entitled Clockwork Angels due out next year. Both songs will be performed live on the Time Machine Tour this summer.
Both tracks were recorded in Nashville with Grammy Award-winning producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Deftones), who previously collaborated with Rush on 2007's critically acclaimed Snakes & Arrows.
The Time Machine Tour is an evening with Rush, where they will perform their classics, give a taste of the future - and for the first time ever - feature the Moving Pictures album live in its entirety.

"We were off for a year and a half, and now it's just pouring. Everything is totally crazy and there's not a minute left in the day. We've got these half-dozen songs, and we'll probably go in the studio and work on a couple of them and see how it goes, perhaps release something - and I say perhaps - and then we plan on being on the road," says guitarist, Alex Lifeson.
Rush have revealed that an album will be released in 2011 following a tour later this year.
The band have finally confirmed that they are in fact writing and recording a new album, following reports that they may instead release a series of one-off tracks or EPs, and they have also confirmed that they will be out on the road this year. Rush fansite Rushisaband reports that both Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee have been speaking to US and Canadian media about the band's plans.
Geddy spoke to Akron's 97.5 Wone earlier this week, revealing: "We're kind of looking at a kind of a 2 year plan. A little bit of writing now, getting a couple of tracks down. Playing some songs in the summertime on tour that people are not familiar with as well as bringing back a whole range of older songs. And getting quickly back into the studio again and finishing the album and see what the impact of that is."
