Shining (NOR) are about to release International Blackjazz Society, their new album. Before that, they have unveiled a new song to the masses. The new single is called "Last Day"; it is quite catchy and there's some saxophone goodness, of course. Norwegian self-proclaimed blackjazzers Shining (NOR) will be releasing their seventh studio album, called International Blackjazz Society, on the 16th of October via Spinefarm Records according to their official Facebook page and website. The announcement has been made and now they have shared with us their live in the studio video for "The Last Stand," which is track number 2 on the album.
Norwegian avantgarde/experimental metallers Shining (NOR) are extremely pleased to announce 'International Blackjazz Society European Tour' for fall 2015. This headlining (almost) one-month run will be executed through October and November, and will be supported by Australian band Caligula's Horse. Shining (NOR) are releasing a new album this year on Spinefarm Records. But before that, they tried to reach for the sun as they performed on top of a 2,300 foot cliff in Norway! On June 21st, on the solstice and longest day of the year, the Norwegian blackjazz band Shining (NOR) played the world's first concert on top of a grandiose mountain structure hanging out 700 meters-that's nearly 2300 feet-above the ground. A fan-filmed clip of the concert can be seen below along with amazing shots from the event and a video from the band where you can hear a snippet of new music.
Shining (NOR) have very good news to share. The follow-up to One One One (2013) is finally coming. The experimental/avantgarde group has joined forces with Spinefarm Records for a worldwide deal that will see a new studio album released later this year supported by international touring. You can start anticipating the new material and Jørgen Munkeby says it will be one of their most varied albums.
Norwegian group Shining (NOR) has clarified their drummer situation after being asked who their drummer is: Torstein Lofthus, who has been in the band since 1999, or Tobias Ørnes Andersen, who has been performing live with the band since 2013. The frontman Jørgen Munkeby has stated that Torstein Lofthus is officially out of the band and Tobias Ørnes Andersen (ex-Ørkenkjøtt, Leprous, Ihsahn) joined permanently. Also, the band has been recording new songs that they plan to release next year but the details are still under wraps.

They will be touring in support of their latest new album One One One, out in stores from April 8th, 2013. Support bands for this tour will be announced subsequently.
The avantgarde Norwegian group Shining (NOR) will release One One One, their first studio album in three years, this spring in North America. The album, which is available now for pre-order, will be released by Prosthetic Records in North America digitally on April 23rd, with physical releases on CD and gatefold LP to follow soon after. The album also sees its release today in Norway and the new song "Blackjazz Rebels" is currently streaming at this location.
