Last year, Taake's mastermind Hoest once again entered Conclave Studio with producer Bjørnar E. Nilsen and the recording of nearly 20 new tracks has commenced. The first results from these sessions will be released as the Et Hav Av Avstand album this autumn. It will be released by Dark Essence Records in cooperation with Svartekunst Produksjoner. Over the past months, Norwegian black metal unity Taake have released a series of 10" splits with three different bands (Whoredom Rife, Deathcult and Helheim), on three different labels. And, as always happens in the case of vinyl releases, fans have been asking for a CD version. Dark Essence Records are happy to oblige, therefore, on the 2nd July, they will be releasing a limited edition Digipak CD, along with a Digital version, of the Taake tracks from the series. This special release is entitled Avvik.

Norwegian black metal icon Hoest has cast some positivity into the hell that has been 2020, with the release of two Taake 10″ split EPs, one with Deathcult (on Edged Circle Productions) and one with Whoredom Rife (on Terratur Possessions), and now, as the year draws to a close, a third split has been announced with Helheim through Dark Essence Records. Titled Henholdsvis, the EP is set for release on the 5th of March 2021.

Titled the 'Northern Alliance 2020 Tour', the two Norwegian bands will be supported by France's Necrowretch and will play a total of 18 dates throughout 11 countries.

Taake is about to embark on a North American tour this March and the first show was to take place at Le Poisson Rouge in New York City. However, it seems that accusations of Nazism and hate imagery prompted the venue to cancel the show. New York City Antifa is one of the organizations that pressured the venue to cancel the show with other venues also being pressured to do the same. Taake frontman Hoest has issued a statement regarding the cancellation.
