Nils Middelhauve has parted ways with German symphonic metal outfit Xandria. You will do well to remember that Nils sat out the band's European Tour last April due to an injured finger. The bassist has however decided to quit the band.
German symphonic metallers Xandria have issued the following announcement about the band's bass player having to miss their upcoming European tour: "Bad luck for our bass guitar player Nils. Whilst we were playing the most recent shows w/ Epica, Nils severely hurt his right forefinger on stage which eventually led to a serious blood poisoning after the last show."

Germany's symphonic metal act Xandria and Napalm Records are proud to announce the worldwide signing of the female fronted 5-piece to the Austrian-based record company. Xandria's upcoming, fifth full-length studio album is scheduled to be released in early 2012. All of the previous studio albums prominently charted in the German Media Control album charts.
Earlier today, German Symphonic metallers Xandria have unveiled their new singer and frontwoman, Manuela Kraller.
She started singing at the lately age of 23, took classical lessons and sang in church and gospel choirs. As her interest towards rock and metal music grew up on her, she found herself performing in a Swiss metal band called Nagor Mar. She also became a singer in the famous act Haggard as a tour musician. You can watch her personal introduction video below.
The band stated earlier: "The search has been long, but it has been worth it! She is the one we have been looking for! We already have begun working on the finalization of the music for the new album with her, so we hope to enter the studio for recording the new album in the new year as soon as possible."
German metallers Xandria have issued the following update on their MySpace blog:
"Unfortunately we have to cancel the planned Xandria Tour in Mexico due to circumstances beyond our control. The Mexican promoter that booked these concerts has not fullfilled any contractual obligations, therefore making it impossible to make the trip. All tickets can be refunded where you bought them.
Xandria will be working on new dates in Mexico and once everything is clear we will announce these dates.
We feel sorry for all of you who wanted to come to our shows, we would really have loved to be with you and play them! Hope to see you all as soon as possible!
German Symphonic metal act Xandria wants to share the following good and bad news with you:
"First the bad ones: it now appears that Kerstin Bischof (guest for Axxis) - who joined the band about a year ago - unfortunately can't be the permanent new singer of Xandria. Due to occupational and private reasons she wants to concentrate on her non-musical career in the future and cannot support Xandria the way it would be necessary. We wish her all the best for the future!
So here and now we are searching for a new singer again, details for applications follow in a few days. We know that you are waiting for a new album, and we are very sorry for keeping you waiting even longer for the new songs, with which we actually wanted to enter the recording studio now.
On February 8th 2009, Xandria finally announced their new singer with the following message: "We all have waited long for this moment, and without putting you on the rack anymore we just introduce her to you now. The new Xandria singer's name is Kerstin Bischof, and here you get further infos on here."
Kerstin Bischof herself commented: "Finally I can come out with it! I'm so excited about being Xandria's woman at the mic in the future! The guys and I are busy writing new songs and I love it! I can hardly wait entering the stage with them for the first time! In the first audition rehearsal I already felt that it just fit perfectly together - the songs rocked! Of course the guys were kind of held back at that time but when they told me a few weeks later they felt the same...
German metallers Xandria have issued the following update:
"Lisa Middelhauve is not the singer of Xandria anymore. After almost eight years of successful work together she decided to leave the band due to personal reasons. For some time now Lisa didn´t feel comfortable with her role as Xandria´s front woman anymore and wants to step aside to make it possible for the band to find someone who can stand behind Xandria completely. A step that we all regret, but is highly respected.
We want to thank her for the great, successful and unforgettable time we had together and wish her only the best for the future! Thank you - your contribution to Xandria and everything you did for the band we will never forget!"
Xandria have released a new video 'Save My Life' from their forthcoming album "Salomé - The Seventh Veil". The video is available at their MySpace page.
The album "Salomé - The Seventh Veil" featuring 12 new songs was released on the 25th of May.
