Doom/gothic metallers The Foreshadowing have released a song, a cover version of "The Rains Of Castamere" whose original music was written by Ramin Djawadi and George R. R. Martin. It's just a tribute to the Game Of Thrones series that the band recorded and mixed while working on the new album and is now sharing.

Black metallers Behexen will be touring in the US for the first time on their 20th anniversary. Their North American tour will start on June 29th in New York at the Martyrdoom III festival. The group's first USA appearances ever will feature special guests and fellow Finns Sargeist.

The Black Dahlia Murder are releasing a new DVD next month and it is called Fool 'Em All. This will be the band's second DVD and follows up their Majesty DVD. Once again, director Robbie Tassaro captured the band on tour and this time around, you can put on your 3D glasses (included in the package) to experience the band in stereoscopic 3D in select scenes throughout the DVD. Fool 'Em All is scheduled for release on May 27th in North America and a few days earlier in Europe via Metal Blade Records. Take a look at the trailer here to whet your appetite.
As hinted before, Metal Blade Records has announced that Jordan Mancino (drums), Nick Hipa (guitar), Phil Sgrosso (guitar) and Josh Gilbert (bass) of San Diego based metal act As I Lay Dying have teamed up with vocalist Shane Blay (previously lead guitar/clean vocals in Oh, Sleeper) to create the new band Wovenwar. That's As I Lay Dying minus Tim Lambesis. Over approximately the last year, the band completed work on new material recorded with producer Bill Stevenson (Descendents, Black Flag) with mixing duties currently being handled by Colin Richardson (Slipknot, Machine Head, Trivium). However, it will only happen next year, so you still have a little waiting to do. Below you find the first dates of their new European tour, that will see the band en route through nine different countries in April and May 2015. So maybe the new album will come out around that time? One can speculate. According to Hansi Kürsch, the production is almost done.
One year ago, Deftonesbassist Chi Cheng passed away after a prolonged coma caused by a car accident back in 2008. The band has now posted online a previously unreleased track called "Smile" in the first anniversary of his passing. You can stream the track on the YouTube clip below. The song is thought to be from the band's shelved album Eros, which was originally put aside after Cheng's tragic accident.

Good news arrive from the Omit camp today. Omit is doom metal band based in Oslo, Norway and their debut album Repose came out in 2011. Now its successor is being recorded at the Secret Quarters studio, as it was revealed by the band on their official Facebook page.
Folk metallers Lyriel have been recording their new album to follow Leverage and according to their label AFM Records, are right now finalizing their brand new album for a September release. In terms of details about the new album, Christian Älvestam (Solution .45, ex-Scar Symmetry, etc.) recorded clean vocals and screams which will be featured in the new song "Black And White".
The Finns Malpractice haven't released a new album since 2008's Triangular but the wait is finally over as the next album is coming this summer. The progressive metal group just signed a deal with New Jersey based Sensory Records and their new opus is titled Turning Tides.
