Impending Doom have entered The Machine Shop studio in Belleville, NJ this week to start working on a next LP with producer Will Putney. This currently untitled new effort will be the band's follow-up to Baptized In Filth, which was released in March last year via eOne Music. Dutch singer/pianist Anneke Van Giersbergen has unveiled the release date of her new single and upcoming album. Single will be released on August 23rd, while the album will be out on September 27th, 2013. Anneke has also announced an European tour for this coming October/November. Chicago doom metallers Trouble will return this year with their first album since Simple Mind Condition, released in 2007. The album entitled The Distortion Field contains 12 tracks and will be released by FRW Music in North America on July 16th 2013 and in Europe on July 26th, 2013. The Distortion Field will also feature new lead vocalist Kyle Thomas of Exhorder and Floodgate fame.

Recently, Týr revealed that they had parted ways with former drummer Kári Streymoy and promised a surprise studio fill in drummer. They have kept their promise and while they are recording their new album with producer Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Aborted, Mercenary) at his studios in Denmark, the folk metallers have enlisted the services of George Kollias to track the drum parts, primarily known for his work in Nile, as well as Nightfall. A video featuring drum tracking highlights, as well as a short message from Kollias can be seen below.
