Grey Heavens - Session Appearance By Triptykon Drummer On New Album

Grave mainman/guitarist Ola Lindgren has posted the following update in regards to his black/death metal solo project, Grey Heavens:

Graveworm - New Album Details Announced

Fragments Of Death, the new upcoming album from Italian symphonic black metal band Graveworm will be released on October 21th via Nuclear Blast Records.

The follow-up to 2009's Diabolical Figures was recorded in July at the Dream Sound Studios in Munich, Germany and was mastered by Jan Vacik.

According to a press release, the songs are about the death in its thousand faces, which is also reflected in the album title and cover art. Musically, the album can be seen as a mixture of the best of the last four records, with some old-school roots and definitive darker than its predecessors.

Krokmitën - Debut Album Available For Free Download

Alpha-Beta, the brand new debut album from Montreal experimental death metallers Krokmitën, is now available for streaming in its entirety in the YouTube clips below. The album is also available for free download over at the band's website.

The concept album consists of one single 46-minute track accompanied by an animated video synced to the music directed by Krokmitën's guitarist/vocalist Simlev.

Unholy - 1994 Album To Be Re-Issued With Bonus DVD

Peaceville Records will be reissuing The Second Ring of Power by Finnish doom act Unholy on October 17th, 2011. The new version includes a bonus DVD featuring the band live in Finland from a rare 1994 performance.

Tesseract - Recording New Material

TesseracT is in the studio for the first time with newly announced vocalist, Elliot Coleman.

Originally featured on their debut album One , the band is re-recording "Eden" with Coleman on vocals and will also be releasing a music video in for the track. More details will be announced shortly, but in the meantime TesseracT has released studio footage of the recording process which can be seen below.

Throne Of Katarsis - New Album Details Revealed

Norwegian black metal horde Throne Of Katarsis are planning to release their third album, Ved Graven, this autumn.

Ved Graven (fundamentally translated to "at the grave") is ultimately the darkest material written by the band since their inception in 2004. Cold and raw, and with the bizarre aura of an everlasting funeral, Throne of Katarsis recorded the seven rites of this album over three long nights, recording in total darkness. All instruments and vocals were recorded in a live séance in order to capture the aura the band creates during their convocations. Several guitar leads were added to this sinister mix, as well as an organ, recorded during a late night ceremony at a local church in Norway.

Hatesphere - New Album Trailer Online

The Great Bludgeoning, the new upcoming album of Danish death/thrash metal act Hatesphere will be released on September 21st in Spain, Finland and Sweden, on September 23rd in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Benelux and Italy, on September 26th in the rest of Europe and on September 27th in the USA and Canada through Napalm Records.

The album is described as "a merciless and brutal inferno that will leave a trail of destruction in its wake." You can check out the official album trailer for the upcoming release below.

Nightwish - Change Upcoming Album Title

According to a posting on the official Nightwish website, the band has changed the title of the upcoming album and movie from Imaginarium to Imaginaerum "in order to avoid mix-ups with various things named Imaginarium."

Nightwish recently inked a new European deal with Nuclear Blast Records. The band's new album will be released somewhere in December. The US version of the CD will be made available through Roadrunner Records.

Imaginaerum - the movie will be shot in September on a secret location. If all goes well, the film will arrive at some point in 2012.

Miseration - New Drummer Announced

Yesterday we informed you that Swedish death metallers Miseration are currently working on a new full-length album together with producer/The Crown guitarist Marko Tervonen (read all about it here). In the same update, the band also announced they have parted ways with drummer Rolf Pilve. Today we can tell you that his replacement will be Oscar Nilsson, of Saint Daemon and Despite fame.

Opeth - Exclusive Live Album To Be Made Available With Rock Hard Magazine

The September 2011 issue of Germany's Rock Hard magazine will include a big cover story and world-exclusive live CD by Swedish progressive metallers Opeth that won't be available at record stores.

The Devil's Orchard - Live At Rock Hard Festival is a five-song, 50-minute effort which is described as "an outstanding recording made in 2009" when the band stunned the audience with an awesome performance in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. The CD will also include "The Devil's Orchard", the first single from Opeth's long-awaited new studio album, Heritage.

Alice Cooper - New Guitarist Announced

Alice Cooper announced that eminent guitar prodigy Orianthi will join his band, replacing departing guitarist Damon Johnson, for the next leg of his 2011 No More Mr. Nice Guy world tour starting September 22,2011 in Auckland, New Zealand. Currently in progress, the tour hits ninety plus cities, covering five continents, including Europe and North America twice over.

Oranssi Pazuzu - Sign With Spinefarm Records

Oranssi Pazuzu has signed a record deal with Finnish label Spinefarm Records.

The band also revealed there's a new full-length album coming out on October 26th, entitled Kosmonument. Vinyl version will also be available.

One of the new tracks off that new album, called "Uusi Olento Nousee", is available for streaming over at MySpace.

Royal Hunt - Busy Recording New Album

Royal Hunt are getting ready to enter the studio to record a new - yet untitled - album. The band's 11th studio album is expected to be released in November/December through Marquee/Avalon (Japan and SE Asia) and Frontiers Records (rest of the world).

The band describes the music as a "full-fledged return to that classic RH sound" which put the band on the map in the first place, all the way back in 1991.

The line-up on the album will be the same as the line-up appearing on the mini-reunion-tour this spring.
