Guitarist Christian Hector from Norwegian Folk/Gothic Metal band Midnattsol - featuring vocalist Carmen Elise Espenaes (the younger sister of Leaves' Eyes singer Liv Kristine) - has posted the following update on the band's official MySpace page:
It's been very long time since we could announce something really sure about doing a new record. We are just about to write our sixth, seventh and eighth song. 5 are (let's say 99%) finished already.
We plan to enter the studio in the midst of November and finish with mixing and mastering in December.
In the meantime we're discussing possible album-titles, cover- and layout-artworks and so on. At the moment everybody's very busy!
Moonspell will enter studio first weeks of July in order to record a very special project. The recording sessions will be held at the Denmark's finest Antfarm Studios. Behind the wheel of death will be Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Dark Tranquillity, Rob Halford), co-producing with the band. This release will consist of re-recordings of the band's legendary Under the Moonspell (1994) but also going back as far as their first demo Anno SatanÆ and their sole track as Morbid God, Serpent Angel. All the songs will be re-arranged and revamped in order to underline their revered distinction as Underground classics but now with a mature dark energy and class. The full-length record (8 songs and around 5 instrumental compositions) will be released in early October (2007) via SPV worldwide.
After the departure of Roland Navratil at the end of March, Edenbridge has hired a new drummer, and in the same time a new guitar player.
Official statement of the band :
"Edenbridge like to welcome Robert Schoenleitner and Sebastian Lanser as their 2 new members! Robert Schoenleitner already played guitar on Edenbridge´s last tour through England and Asia. Robert studied guitar at VGI institute Munich.
Sebastian Lanser, who studied drums at the Bruckner University in Linz will replace Roland Navratil on drums. Sebastian is a long time friend of Robert. Edenbridge therefore is officially a five-piece again after more than 5 years. For more infos to our new members please check out their profiles, Robert and Sebastian.

"Due to personal reasons, our bass player Dennis has decided to leave the band and focus on his personal life for a while. We're surely going to miss him! We wish him tons of luck in all his future endeavors and thank him for all these years of fun, crazy heavy music and crushing the stage with us.
We're currently in the process of finding a new bass player; Michel 'MuD' Quak will temporarily replace Dennis during the upcoming Cynic show and UK Tour. We'll keep you posted".
The following message was posted on Belphegor's official website:
...again! The last session drummers didn't work out when it came to worldwide touring. The group is still seeking a talented, experienced European - based drummer. A buddy with a professional attitude and focus to be in the band for real. Belphegor have an album to finish writing and many tours to go on. If you think you have a shot, send us a detailed message and hit us up at: email@example.com.
First off, please realize that it will have no effect at all on our activities, touring and otherwise. The core is solid and ready to kick some serious ass. Of course it´s irritating to always have new drummers, but that allowed us to surpass ourselves every time, through the hiring of better musicians...
Well, we've got 8 new songs in various states of completion. Titles confirmed so far include "The Lie", "A Sorrow to Kill", "Merry-Go-Round" and "Asylum". Working titles (IE: these could change!) include "Temptation" and "A Silver Key".
We will start the recording process on the 21st August, again using Brett Caldas-Lima who produced the debut "Transcendental". Recording will take place near Oxford, England at a purpose built rehearsal studio (which is a bit better than the "back room of a pub" like last time, hehe).
The music's definitely going in a heavier direction. I know most bands say this, but since Tom is writing a majority of the stuff with his 7-string baritone tuned to F# it's definitely true. The songs are also going to be considerably more complex and roundly structured than before. All the parts that have become "typically" To-Mera are still going to be there only much more so in every possible way. There's more fluidity and emotional depth to the new songs. We're all more than happy with the way things are working out.
The following message was posted on Catamenia's official website:
"We're proud to announce and welcome our new drummer, Mikko Nevanlahti, to the band. More info about him can be found from the member profile at biography section here. Thank you all who sent their applications and showed interest towards Catamenia!".
The Webmaster of their official site made the following announcement regarding the new album:
"First Part of Full Studio Report online!
The first part of "Making of The Scythe" has been posted online on Elvenking Official YouTube Channel. This first video is about the Drums and Guitars. More to come very soon! You can also find it in the Media page."
The next text was posted by Ola Frenning on the Soilwork website some days ago (June 26th, 2007):
"Peter and I just finished the mix of the last song. Which means, the new Soilwork album is done. All I can say, it sound´s excellent... great sound, great playing and a good mix of songs. Im very happy to have an album in my CD-collection, that no one else has... yet!
So, the case "Soilwork recording 2007" is closed. And, hopefully, the album will be out before the snow starts to fall. See ya"
The following message was posted on Evile's MySpace page:
"You can now hear exclusive tracks taken from the forthcoming album from UK Thrashers Evile. The tracks 'Enter the Grave', 'Schizophrenia' and 'Armoured Assault' are taken from the blistering Earache Records release "Enter The Grave" produced by Legendary Producer Flemming Rasmussen, which will be available on August 27th in UK/Europe and September 25th in the USA.
No instrument samples were used in the making of "Enter the Grave"- all parts were recorded acoustically, live in the studio.
The following message was posted on Winds's label website The End Records:
"The Norwegian classical/progressive metal band Winds is back with the follow-up to their acclaimed 2004 opus "The Imaginary Direction of Time". The band has worked extensively on the new record over the last three years, and after undergoing the most complex recording process in the band's career so far, the new album finally saw completion in April of 2007.
This is the band's fourth recording together as a unit, and although the four individuals behind Winds have been making music together for over ten years already, they are probably still more known for their individual efforts with their other bands rather than their collective work in Winds. This may very well be about to change with the September 4th release of "Prominence and Demise".
The following message was posted on Disillusion's official website:
"Good news for the upcoming festival and live season! Disillusion have found a replacement for ex-drummer Maluschka. New drummer will be Alex "Sasch" Tscholakov, who has worked on every one of the band's releases over the past 10 years, either on the mix or otherwise. "Sasch" apparently is the perfect choice for the band and we are very excited to start writing the new record with him soon. Also, the vacant bass player spot is filled. To complete the lineup, Alla Fedynitch joins Disillusion. She has been a session bass player for quite a number of bands before and is of course more than a mere gain in the low frequency band."
The following message was posted on Benediction's official MySpace page:
"We have postponed the tour later this year. Reasons? Working visas mainly. We seem to be able to use british passports to get into just about every other country in the world with no problem except the country which in political circles is our closest allie and friend!!!. Minor offences up to 15 years in the past can cause great concern to the authorities that be. This includes late payments of fines/drunk and or disorderly. This it seems makes you a national risk!!!. The usual shit. We'll try and get out there in early 2008 (if the immigration/visa department let certain people in the gang in !!!) Sorry about that. Shit happens. Get over it,we have. We'll sort it".
