09:51 - deadone Yup I avoid Metal Injection too. All they seem to post is bloody lists (top 7 blah of the blah, top 9.37 bleurgh of 6th century etc etc) Moronic crap indeed!
09:49 - ScreamingSteelUS Granted, I have more experience with hating Metal Injection. Metal Sucks is often relatively inoffensive.
09:42 - deadone Maco, it's the truth. They've been involved in feuds with some musicians. They do post tabloid style crap designed more to draw one in with big outrageous titles and yet have very little content.
09:26 - Joe Zombie I have found a good number of bands because of MetalSucks. I don't read their articles or reviews. I also like their "Shit That Comes Out Today" feature. Good way to keep up with new stuff.
09:25 - Maco What happened on metalsucks to say something like that.
French Heavy metal webzine Métal Intégral are self-releasing the new edition of the French Heavy metal anthology, Made In France 1978-2008 - Hard And Heavy.
According to the webzine, the 2008 edition will be the most complete overview of the history of French Heavy metal, covering 30 years of French-made metal. The anthology contains 120 pages, featuring more than 1000 bands. Over 250 LP's or EP vinyl, 290 7'' records and 1500 CD's and EP's are pictured and discussed.
Made In France only covers the traditional genres - heavy metal, hard rock, power metal and progressive metal from 1978 til 2008 - while there's no room for death, black, doom, thrash and nu metal. Some bands featured in the book include Resistance, Still Square, Salhem, Lonewolf, Blackrain, Ice Scream, Blaspheme, Holy Cross, Satan Jokers, Adx, Excalibur, Wolf's Gang, Mr Jack, Heavylution and many more.
Månegarm's new video for the song "Vetrarmegin" (Eng: "Winter Force") is now viewable on the world wide web. Coming off Månegarm's latest full-length album "Nattväsen" (Eng: "Night Creatures"), released in November, the clip can be watched below.
The video was filmed on site in a "Viking village" with an incredible pre-renaissance atmosphere, near the band's hometown, Norrtälje (Sweden). Månegarm states: "The Viking village, with its amazing surroundings, will fit the theme of the video just perfect!!" The video was done by Standard Film Team (Dark Funeral, Plector, Zonaria).
The 3rd full length CD, from traditional metallers Icarus Witch mysteriously entitled, Draw Down The Moon, will be released February 9th, 2010 through Cleopatra Records/Koch Distribution. The band was recently described as having a "Heavy influence of Iron Maiden combined with good old fashioned hard/rock metal production and great musicianship" by Don Jamieson, host of VH1 Classic's That Metal Show. Perhaps this assessment helped land the boys the opening slot on original Maiden crooner, Paul DiAnno's first American tour in over 15 years, commencing this January 27 in NYC.
Britain's Metal Hammer magazine recently drafted Icarus Witch for both their cover mount compilation CD as well as an interview on their feature about the explosive rise of traditional metal with the younger generation of bands, referring to the Witch as "One of the best new bands to take up the NWOTM (New Wave of Traditional Metal) standard and carry it triumphantly into the future. With such accolades, the pressure is mounting for the group to top their previous efforts, a feat which has been handily accomplished by the creation of this new album, their first since 2007's critically acclaimed, Songs For The Lost.
Be'lakor will be expanding their reach overseas with a deal recently signed with Kolony Records. The band's albums will now be purchasable in Europe rather than just in Australia with their new album Stone's Reach being released over there on the 30th November. The Italian label will print Be'lakor's CDs in Europe with the same cover artwork. Prime Cuts Music will still be the band's main label, covering their album releases back home.
A word from the band: "We're thrilled to have reached this agreement with Kolony! Thanks to the great support that we have received from our fans in Europe! Hopefully soon we will be able to come across and play some shows for you."

Swedish Brutal Death metal outfit Visceral Bleeding have issued the following band update, telling about the departure of only original member Peter Persson, his replacement, a new album and the search for a lead guitarist (Martin Bermheden left last year to play for The Berzerker). Here's the full message:
"It's been way too long since we made any updates on what's happening in the Visceral Bleeding camp, we apologise for this, we know a lot of you've been wondering about what's going on.
First off, a message from Peter: "I have decided to leave Visceral Bleeding to pursue and focus on other challenges in life. There is not really that much to say about it, Visceral Bleeding took up all of our time for a lot years (10 fucking years to be exact) and we got to do some amazing tours and shows and meet great people all over Europe. But now it's time for me to focus on family and other personal stuff. Absolutely no hard feelings involved in this decision, I just feel I have other priorities in life and don't want to be a burden to the band.

Swedish extreme metallers Shining have dropped off the upcoming "Evangelia Amerika" tour alongside Behemoth and Septicflesh, due to work visa issues. Lightning Swords Of Death, who had previously been added to three of the tour dates, will now be taking Shining's place for the duration of the tour.
Lightning Swords Of Death vocalist, Autarch, comments on the Behemoth dates: "Regarding our dates with Behemoth, attendees can expect to find themselves victim to the horror of true and agonizing ritual abuse. All of the bands on this lineup exemplify the epitome of their collective genres' strengths and will be a dark and impressive sight to behold."
Lightning Swords Of Death's Metal Blade Records debut album will rear its head sometime during the spring of 2010. In anticipation of this album's release, the band will be touring the western and southern US during March of 2010 with Kreator, Kataklysm, Evile and Lazarus A.D..
