05:26 - Boxcar Willy When i go to California next winter I'm stopping at Jef Whitehead's tattoo shop. I've been thinking about getting the Leviathan moon on my left middle finger for awhile now, feels only right to have him do it.
03:21 - !J.O.O.E.! Oh yeah, punctuation technically. Not actually sure if grammar includes punctuation.
Dark Funeral's guitarist Lord Ahriman has posted the following MySpace blog today:
"So, finally it's time... On Monday Aug 18, Chaq Mol and I will enter the studio together with producer Örjan Örnkloo (Misery Loves CO) to begin the songwriting process of a new, yet untitled full-length album.
Exactly how long it will take is hard to say, but the plan is to be done with a pre-production within the next 3-4 weeks. We already have quite some material written so I feel that we are as pre-prepared as we can be at this stage.
We will only work in the studio during the weekdays. So every weekend when we're home we'll post a studio report to keep you updated. Anyway, time to get busy. Talk to you in about a week again."

Pantheist have posted the following on their MySpace:
"As you might have noticed in the last few weeks, there have been a few changes in the tourdates with Skepticism and Ophis. We are proud to announce that the 7 dates have now been finally confirmed! This short but intense tour is going to be a unique event (not joking, considering Skepticism only tour for the second time in their long career and for us it's only our second proper tour as well). Hope to see many of you there.
In related news, we have a great time recording our third album "Journey Through Lands Unknown" with Greg at Priory Studios. The album is currently being mastered at Sonic Mastering by Rik Dowding (some of you might recognize his name from the credits of the last Portishead album; you might even have seen him, as he was their sound engineer on their recent tour). We should be able to post a full track on the myspace site by next weekend or so."
Pitch Black Records announces the arrival of the debut album by local Cypriot act Prodigal Earth. Their style is melodic classic heavy metal with a touch of power and this promises to be one of the best metal albums to have ever come out of Cyprus; both in terms of production and in terms of composition.
The album, titled "Zenith II Zero", will be released in October 2008 and it includes 12 melodic heavy/power compositions characterized by an overall fresh sound as well as Nicholas Leptos' (Diphtheria, Arryan Path) charismatic voice. The album's cover and inlay artwork have been created by Thomas Ewerhard who is well known for his work with Therion, Jorn, Tankard, Vanden Plas and Hammerfall among others.
Pain will release its new album "Cynic Paradise" on October 31 via Nuclear Blast Records. The follow-up to "Psalms Of Extinction", which was released in 2007 via Roadrunner, features "eleven gems offering a vast variety of styles and influences which are even new for Pain," according to a press release. Nightwish singer Anette Olzon makes a guest appearance on two tracks, "Follow Me" and "Feed Us". The artwork was created by renowned artist Travis Smith (Amorphis, Opeth, Nevermore).
"Cynic Paradise" will be available as a limited-edition digipack including a bonus Cd.
Irish doom metallers Mourning Beloveth have posted the following statement:
"Forgive me Father it's been a while since my last confession and alot has happened in that time.
As you know by now the tour we had planned for March had to be cancelled and those who know us know the reasons why but we will not go in to them here. For a band who has never cancelled a gig, let alone a tour it was a big decision but one that had to be made.
The next few months should see us make up for that in some small way with a few festival dates followed by gigs in October in Italy and Belgium Facade Of Funeral Fest III]. The festival dates will see us play for the first time in Lithuania Ferrum Rust Festival] and Romania and we are really looking forward to it. July sees us play Day Of Darkness in Ireland for a record breaking fourth time and it will be the first airing of the new songs and if rehearsals are anything to go by it should be an intense experience.

Norwegian "trollish" metallers have posted a new song online, which is called "Trinkenvisen". It is one of their songs from the forthcoming third album "Villanden". The album is scheduled to be released at the end of this year via Omvina Records.
The song is also available as a video. You can listen and watch the video here.
"Upon returning home from their first European tour earlier this summer, in support of Napalm Death and Suffocation, Warbringer found itself one member short. While the group had just made touring bassist Ben Bennett official after six months of live shows together, since original bass player, Andy Laux, was still in high school, they now had to begin to replace then-drummer Ryan Bates after he informed them he wished to leave the band.
Fortunately, after putting a number of potential candidates through the wringer, the very talented Nic Ritter won the band over with his diverse and technical style. Ritter, 27, had been playing with progressive thrash act Prototype, a band whose song "The Way It Ends" was a bonus cut on Guitar Hero III, since relocating to LA from San Diego. He has also been keeping busy with his death/grind side-project, Bodybag Johnny. Warbringer's recent show in Mesa, Arizona was his first with the band and from all reports the group didn't miss a beat. You can catch a glimpse of his capabilities via the video here.
Sepultura invited the media for a first listen of their new album "A-Lex" inspired on the book "A Clockwork Orange". The album is scheduled for release in November 2008.
Recorded in São Paulo (Brazil) at Trama Studios and mixed at Mega Studios, "A-Lex" features 18 songs in 60 minutes total playtime and it's a milestone in Sepultura's career.
It's the first album recorded with drummer Jean Dolabella and it sounds different from any other work by Sepultura. As the band defines it, it was written and composed in record time because it's basically a recording of the studio jams during the period of 3 months.
English brutal death titans Mithras have left the following message:
"Following the recent search to fill the long vacant live drummer spot, Mithras have now chosen their man. Previous live drummer / guitarist Ben White (Of Orbeth) departed the band back in 2003 and through a chance meeting which led to an explosive audition, has returned to the fold and his old drum seat. To their relief, this puts the UK's revered extreme metal protagonists back on the circuit for live performances, something they have missed hugely and are keen to return to without delay.
Rayner Coss (oratory/bass) says of Ben's return: "It's great to have Ben, one of our former members back in the band; he knows the material fantastically and is perfect for the role. We auditioned him and he nailed 11 songs taken from all our albums right off the bat, so we're really excited and looking forward to getting on stage for some shows asap!"
