Abigail Williams - Enter The Studio In September

Abigail Williams has nearly completed the writing phase on material that is planned for the band's new album, expected for release in early 2012.

Feverishly working since their return from their most recent European tour, the band is looking forward to testing out some of the new songs later next month when they return to stateside venues for a string of dates that is set to begin August 25 in Las Vegas and conclude when the band performs alongside Morbid Angel in Los Angeles on September 23.

The band's European tour was their first since 2009. The tour visited twelve countries in a quick 21 days. Band leader Sorceron notes: "the shows were excellent. We had a great time with our friends in Iskald and Thulcandra and hope we can join them again in the future. A big thanks to everyone who came out to the shows; we really appreciate your support. The upcoming dates have us headlining in the west including the Rocky Mountain Goat Roast. We are co-headlining the fest with Misery Index. The Scottsdale show has us sharing the stage once more with ex-hometown friends Vehemence and Landmine Marathon. And what more can I say about playing with Morbid Angel other than how awesome it will be to finally share the stage with a band we grew up listening to."

Abigail Williams' still untitled third album is set to be recorded in September. Sorceron says, "the new material is a continuation of our last album but with more atmosphere and far more extreme tempos. We are adding back some of the symphonic elements that were on In The Shadow Of A Thousand Suns album but without sacrificing any of the edge that was on In the Absence Of Light. So far we are really happy with everything."

The album was tracked and mixed at Conquistador Studios (Cleveland, OH) by producer/engineer Cole Martinez (System Divide, Aborted, Abigail Williams) while all artwork/layout duties were handled by Avernus Studios, otherwise known as the infamous, Sven De Caluwe (Aborted, System Divide).

We have posted three songs to whet your foul appetites and we hope it invokes a reaction of wretching, vomiting, twitching uncontrollably, or worse! Prepare yourselves for armageddon!

Abigail Williams - Working On New Album

Official press release

Abigail Williams have completed recording of individual performances for their still untitled second album. Captured at Conquistador Studios in Cleveland, Ohio, eight new songs were laid down with vocalist/guitarist Ken Sorceron and engineer Cole Martinez controlling the audio takes. The songs are currently being mixed by Peter Tagtgren (Dimmu Borgir, Immortal, Celtic Frost) and are expected to be completed later this month.

Commenting briefly on the new material, Sorceron notes: "There is a lot less keyboards on the new songs. They are far more guitar-driven and have a bit more of a traditional sound in some ways but still very Abigail Williams sounding. We let ourselves have much more room with writing this album; kind of a more open, free environment than any we have employed before. The studio experience this time round was very natural to us. We recorded everything with much more ease and I think it has helped in capturing a very honest vibe."

Abigail Williams are set to make their first trip to Australia in May touring alongside Nile. This will be the first run of dates the band will play in 2010; the band was forced to cancel their planned month of American dates (also with Nile) earlier this year due to a performance-stopping injury within the band. The tour was planned to support the release of the limited/deluxe version of the band's popular 2008 debut, In The Shadow Of A Thousand Suns. Featuring five new/previously unreleased songs and the band's video for the song "Into the Ashes", the deluxe edition also featured all new artwork with a slip sleeve cover. Sorceron previously commented: "It is a pretty cool time capsule of new material to show what we have been creating since we originally recorded the album".

While the finishes touches are ongoing for the new album, Sorceron and drummer Ken Bedene are touring in Europe with Aborted (Sorceron contributed to the band's latest album) while guitarist Ian Jekelis is keeping busy touring in the US with God Dethroned. In The Shadow Of A Thousand Suns and the band's 2007 EP Legend are available in stores now. Visit ITunes, Amazon and others for digital.

Abigail Williams - Call It Quits

US Melodic Black Metallers Abigail Williams have disbanded. The group's official statement reads as follows:

"Abigail Williams has decided to disband. It's no secret that the band has had more than its fair share of lineup problems and the time has now come to close the doors. The MySpace page will remain active and we'll continue to sell merchandise until we run out of stock. Abigail Williams released their debut EP, "Legend," via Candlelight Records earlier this year and it is currently available in stores everywhere. Thanks to everyone at Candlelight who believed in this band and every fan who has supported our music.

Please don't bother asking for specific details surrounding the band's demise; just understand that this was for the better and we'll try to keep everyone posted as to the future endeavors of former band members, etc.

In other news, we've now made 'From A Buried Heart' available for download."
