Cryptopsy - New Video Online

Centuria Media press release:

"The unstoppable Montreal killing machine, Cryptopsy, are currently wrapping up a very successful European tour that will immediately lead them into this year's crushing Summer Slaughter North American touring package.

This trek marks their first stateside run in support of their career defining release, "The Unspoken King", which could quite possibly also be their most brutal, yet dynamic offering. The much anticipated new effort is set for a June 24th release.

Cryptopsy recently shot a new video with acclaimed director David Brodsky (GWAR, Soilent Green) for the album's vicious opening cut "Worship Your Demons." The clip captures the band's unrelenting, frenetic stage energy and it is sure to catch your attention. It made its exclusive, online debut through the Headbangers Ball Blog today and premieres on MTV2 this Sat. night. Click here to check it out now."

Drummer Flo Mounier comments:

"It is with pleasure that we announce the new Cryptopsy video, shot and directed by David Brodsky and the Mygoodeye team (GWAR, Soilent Green). The video is for the song "Worship Your Demons" off of the new album, "The Unspoken King". David and his crew found an awesome, dilapidated location in upstate NYC for this shoot and we actually had to build a floor since there wasn't one there when we arrived. This is a straight up, brutal and in-your-face, punishing live performance clip that pulls no punches. It's basically two minutes of unabashed aggression and we hope you all like it.
We had a lot of fun doing this and we would like to thank David and his crew for a fantastic job, and a most friendly environment. Professionalism is always appreciated in this business. Check it out!"

Cryptopsy - European Tour Announced

Canadian masters of brutality Cryptopsy are currently putting the finishing touches on their sixth full-length studio album, "The Unspoken King". The band recently announced the addition of new frontman Matt McGachy (3 Mile Scream) and keyboards/samplist Maggie Durand to their line-up. Vocalist Matt comments the work on the new album as follows:
"The studio process has been very fulfilling. We have just recently finished all of the vocal tracks and the samples are in the process of being completed. The songs are just as brutal as on the previous albums while being far more concise. We have even brought in ex-Ion Dissonance vocalist Gabriel McCaughry to add some vocals to a track called 'Anoint The Dead'. Some of the other tracks on the album are called 'Worship Your Demons', 'The Headsmen' and 'Bemoan The Martyr'."

Regretfully, Cryptopsy have been forced to cancel their recently announced tour of South America in March, after drummer Flo Mounier broke his knee cap. Mounier had completed the drum tracking process for the group's new album prior to the incident, so it did not affect the recording. The tour of South America is expected to be re-scheduled later in 2008.

European Cryptopsy fans will be delighted to hear that the band will be touring Europe right on time of the release of their highly anticipated new effort in May-June 2008, supported by Decrepit Birth and Unmerciful. So, prepare to be crushed!

Cryptopsy - New Album Title Update

Extreme metal titans Cryptopsy have been forced to cancel their recently announced tour of South America in March, after drummer Flo Mounier broke his kneecap. Mounier had completed the drum tracking process for the group's new album prior to the incident, so it did not affect the recording. The tour of South America is expected to be re-scheduled later in 2008.

Cryptopsy are currently putting the finishing touches on their sixth full-length "The Unspoken King", which will surface through Century Media Records this summer. The group recently announced the addition of new frontman Matt McGachy (3 Mile Scream) and keyboards/samplist Maggie Durand to their line-up.

Guitarist Alex Auburn states: "Right now the band is plunged deeply into the production of the new album and so far everything is going well. Fans will be amazed by the diversity and open minded vision of extremes for this particular entity. Some song titles we've been working on are "Worship Your Demons," "Resurgence Of An Empire," and "Silence The Tyrants." More news to follow soon."

Cryptopsy - Kicks Out 'Lord Worm'

Guitarist Alex Auburn of the Canadian death metallers Cryptopsy has confirmed that the band has once again parted ways with singer Lord Worm (a.k.a. Dan Greening). No reason was given for Lord Worm's departure, but according to Auburn, this time the vocalist was "kicked out" of the band and didn't leave of his own accord.

Cryptopsy is currently looking to audition candidates to fill the positions of singer/frontman and keyboardist/samplist. Vocalists must be able to sing in clean voice, on pitch, and also be able to scream/growl. If you are motivated and would like to try out, e-mail the band at crymusic@hotmail.com. If you have a criminal record, don't bother auditioning, as this means you can't tour.

Aborted - Forced To Drop Off Cryptopsy Tour

Belgian death metallers, Aborted have posted the following update on their homepage:

"Well, this tour (with Cryptopsy) has been quite the debacle. We had to cancel Malmo (Sweden) since the bus broke down in Denmark and we were stuck there the whole day which sucked ass. Luckily for the fans, Cryptopsy did make it at the last minute, and apparently they tore it up! We apologize to the fans there waiting to see us, but we only found out last minute we wouldn't make it, sucks.... Secondly, Matty (guitars) had some problems with his working situation so last minute we had to cancel our participation to the rest of the tour since he might have lost his job over this. Our boys in Visceral Bleeding are taking over for the other dates and I'm sure they will do the killing in our stead. All you guys out there, no worries, we're planning a full offensive next year with the new album! Now it's time to play Stockholm, see you guys there!"

Cryptopsy - Guitarist Jon Levasseur leaves

Greetings all Cryptopsy fans!

Jon Levasseur here writing to officially announce my departure from Cryptopsy. It is something I strangely felt coming on since a year prior to my departure (August 2004) as my inspiration for such extreme music was growing thin. After 10 years in the band, I now wish to step back, lay low and explore other things in music. Who knows, maybe one day this new chapter in my life could turn out into something interesting!

That being said, I want to say that I'm very proud of what Cryptopsy has accomplished as a band and I consider myself extremely fortunate to have broken through boundaries with some of the best musicians in the business. So to Flo Mounier, Eric Langlois, Lord Worm and Alex Auburn, it's been a great ride guys, full of memories. Thanx for everything and for putting up with me!!! I also wish to extend thanx to the ex-members club: Steve Thibault, Mike DiSalvo, Miguel Roy, Martin Lacroix, Martin Fergusson, Dave Galea and to the 6th member for the past 6 years, Maurice Richard and all other people who have been involved in the band's success!

Finally, I want to thank every Cryptopsy fan on the planet. Because of your undying support, the band is able to bring its music around the globe and it made me live so many great things and experiences. I got to play for fans in many places in the world, some places even beyond my own expectations. Hail to you all, thank you and do look forward to the next Cryptopsy album!

Long life to Cryptopsy!

Jon Levasseur

Cryptopsy- Original singer returns

Canadian technical death metallers CRYPTOPSY have been officially rejoined by original vocalist Lord Worm.

Lord Worm, who sang on the band's first two albums ? 1994's "Blasphemy Made Flesh" (Displeased) and 1995's "None So Vile" (Wrong Again) ? has announced his return to CRYPTOPSY via the following posting on the group's web site:

" 'Un mal pour un bien', I've heard it said, and those seven long years ago, unhappy though I was at leaving (for a private question of honour, not beer), it was nonetheless for the best. Now, we've come full circle, and again a private question of honour finds me back in the fold. 'It is so. It cannot be otherwise.' See you soon..."

CRYPTOPSY's most recent vocalist, Martin Lacroix (ex-SPASME) ? who appeared on the band's 2003 live release, "None So Live" ? left the group in October for undisclosed reasons. CRYPTOPSY are currently writing material for their fifth studio album, tentatively due in early 2004 through Century Media Records.
