Intronaut - Check Out The New Song

On October 12, Southern California's Intronaut are releasing their new album Valley of Smoke on Century Media. The final album version of one of the new songs, "Elegy" from that upcoming release, is now streaming at this location. (If you share on Facebook or Twitter you can also get a free download of the track).

Valley of Smoke was produced by Josh Newell (Jane's Addiction) and features a guest appearance by Tool bassist Justin Chancellor. The album's cover artwork was done by David D'Andrea.

Intronaut guitarist/vocalist Sacha Dunable previously stated about the band's upcoming material: "This record rules so much that I'm literally embarrassed to have been a part of everything we've done up until now. Not to sound pretentious, but this is absolutely the best music ever made."

Intronaut - Band Update

Intronaut guitarist/vocalist Sacha Dunable has posted the following detailed blog regarding the band:

"So yeah, the new record is coming along. We are planning to be in the studio recording by April at the latest. We have about four and a half songs totally finished, and so far the material is completely blowing everything else we've done out of the water. I'm almost embarassed to have been a part of the last four releases knowing how great this one will be. You can check out a brief clip of us jamming on some new stuff here. Details on all that will be coming soon.

I supposed I could give you more of a detailed update on the band, too. We have all been busy with other musical projects in the past few months as well:

Drummer Danny Walker has been writing and recording with a grindcore band called Murder Construct, also featuring former Intronaut member Leon Del Muerte, Caleb from Bad Acid Trip, Kevin from Fetus Eaters, and Travis from Cattle Decapitation. He also just tracked drums for the new Bad Acid Trip record. As if all that wasn't keeping him busy enough, Uphill Battle has been rehearsing and will be getting back together for a few shows next year sometime.

Dave Timnick contributed drums to a song or two in a project with Justin Chancellor from Tool and a Polish guy named Peter. I'm a little afraid to try and describe the music, but it rules and kind of sounds like African techno with Polish lyrics. That's actually not at all what it sounds like. Forget I said anything. It rules though! We've also been talking with these two characters about collaborating on a new Intronaut song.

Joe lester is about to track bass for the new EP from our midwestern brothers Mouth Of The Architect. This will be the first time he's recorded with the band after doing more tours with them than any "permanent" bass player they've ever had. I personally can't wait to hear the new stuff!

I have been writing and recording songs with my friends from the band National Sunday Law. We'll announce more details on this as things come together, but we have about 25 minutes of music so far. I've also been jamming casually with my friends Dan Dismal (of LA death metal legends Crematorium) and Beau from The Copperthief on some stoner doom riffs we've been trying to piece together for almost ten years now. This might actually get serious enough to be recorded this year."

Intronaut - Line Up Changes

Intronaut has announced the departure of guitarist/vocalist Leon del Muerte, who has left the group to focus on resurrecting his Murder Construct project, in addition to bass duties for Phobia. Taking his spot in Intronaut is Dave Timnick. According to the band, "Dave is a very talented and proficient musician, we're stoked. In addition to being a great guitar player, he is also a skilled percussionist and has studied tabla with Aloke Dutta. We can't wait to get things going with this revamped lineup!"

Meanwhile, del Muerte has the following to say:

"I had a lot of fun playing and learning new things with Intronaut and got to tour with some great bands and made a lot of new friends. Ultimately, I feel I've just strayed too far from my roots and could not hold back the other members of the band with my single-minded desire to grind. Peace, bitches!"

Intronaut - Sign With Goodfellow Records

The following message was posted in the official Intronaut website:

Goodfellow Records is thrilled to announce another addition to our label roster, the Southern California metal quartet INTRONAUT. Made up of members of Anubis Rising, Exhumed, Murder Construct, Phobia and Uphill Battle (R.I.P.), the band formed in 2004 in Los Angeles. They started playing live in April of 2005 and have quickly become one of the most exciting new heavy bands in the LA area.
"We are super excited to work with Mr. Chris Logan and be a part of the already spectacular Goodfellow roster!" says INTRONAUT guitarist/vocalist Sacha Dunable. "We look forward to bringing INTRONAUT to each and every one of you, and welcome the imminent poverty and starvation that is sure to come as a result."

Their first release through Goodfellow will be the national release of their introductory CDEP, entitled Null, in early 2006. This will be followed almost immediately by a new full length studio album in the spring of 2006. Full details on the album's release are to be confirmed shortly.

More information on the band can be found online at the band's homepage. Two tracks from the Null release are available for your listening pleasure now on the band's myspace page, located online at http://www.myspace.com/intronaut .
