The Swedes Shining have revealed the cover art of their new release 8 ½ - Feberdrömmar I Vaket Tillstånd created by Michal Pawlowski. The album will be released in both CD and limited edition black or white 12" vinyl versions, with liner notes by Niklas Kvarforth, and is set to appear on the 23rd of September through Dark Essence Records. Shining has joined forces with Dark Essence Records for a special release. The label will release an album with different Shining songs that hark back to an earlier era for the band. Rather than simply reissuing the original tracks, Shining decided not only to re-record the songs, but re-record them using a number of different vocalists. The album, which will be available in both CD and LP versions will be titled 8 ½ - Feberdrömmar I Vaket Tillstånd and will be unleashed in September this year.

The avantgarde Norwegian group Shining (NOR) will release One One One, their first studio album in three years, this spring in North America. The album, which is available now for pre-order, will be released by Prosthetic Records in North America digitally on April 23rd, with physical releases on CD and gatefold LP to follow soon after. The album also sees its release today in Norway and the new song "Blackjazz Rebels" is currently streaming at this location.

Shining have revealed the artwork for their upcoming split with Mortuary Drape as well as posted a teaser for the Shining track. Titled In The Eerie Cold Where All The Witches Dance and set for release on Primitive Art Records, the 7" vinyl will contain an exclusive track from each of the bands. Shining frontman Niklas Kvarforth recently announced that he is releasing a book titled When Prozac No Longer Helps, which contains every lyric ever written by him in both its original language (Swedish) and in English in a hardcover format, individually numbered in Kvarforth's own blood. Swedish black metallers Shining are set to release an EP of cover songs with a choice of material that will come as a surprise to many of the band's fans. The four-track EP, titled Lots Of Girls Gonna Get Hurt, includes tracks from Katatonia, Kent, Imperiet and Poets Of The Fall, and is due for release via Spinefarm Records on May 16th. Whilst Katatonia is an internationally recognised name, Kent and Thåström's Imperiet are relatively unknown outside of Sweden, where they are two of the country's biggest names, and Poets Of The Fall is a Finnish band with a substantial following in their own country. Cover art is by Pauline Greefhorst.
