Today is the day to find out more about the band's fourth album to date. Firstly, the album will be released on January 17th (January 21st in North America) on Prophecy Productions. Metal veterans Melvins are set to release their newest studio album Tres Cabrones, on November 5th via Ipecac Records. Tres Cabrones is the nineteenth studio album by them, and it features their original drummer Mike Dillard, with current drummer Dale Crover playing bass. It is the first official album to feature Mike Dillard, as his only previous appearance before the recordings of this album were on Mangled Demos From 1983 and a handful of compilation and bootleg releases. An astonishing surprise in the music world today as Robert Fripp has announced on his online diary that the legendary prog band King Crimson are back in motion. On September 6th 2013, Fripp confirmed King Crimson's newest iteration, stating that "this is a very different reformation to what has gone before: seven players, four English and three American, with three drummers. The Seven-Headed Beast of Crim is in Go! mode". Now revealed, the 8th incarnation of King Crimson will be Gavin Harrison, Bill Rieflin, Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto, Mel Collins, Jakko Jakszyk and Robert Fripp.
Swedish death metal band Demonical are currently streaming their newest album, Darkness Unbound, online via Terrorizer. You can listen to the entire album now. Releasing new music for the first time in eighteen years, California stoner band Vista Chino (featuring two founding members of Kyuss, singer John Garcia and drummer Brant Bjork) is streaming their debut album Peace online which can be heard in full at SPIN's website here. The album will be released on August 30th via Napalm Records.
Surprisingly, James Kelly of Irish black metal band Altar Of Plagues has just announced today via Facebook that the band will give their final performance at the Unsound Festival Poland and they will split up. The decision was made before writing Teethed Glory And Injury which will then be their last album.
After much anticipation, Napalm Records has released online a brand new song by the Austrian atmospheric black metal veterans Summoning. The song can be streamed using the Soundcloud player below and this is the title track from the band's seventh full length album Old Mornings Dawn, which is set to be released on June 7th.
American shoegaze black metallers Deafheaven have begun streaming their second album, Sunbather, which can be heard in full at this location in advance of its release. The album is set to be released on June 11th via Deathwish Inc. just before the start of their headlining tour.

Australian progressive metal band Karnivool have announced the premiere of a new song called "The Refusal" which is now streaming online. Their upcoming untitled album is due out in the summer, four years after the release of Sound Awake. The track can be heard here.
Back in December of 2012, progressive metal band Cynic announced that they were in the studio, working on their new LP. Early working titles for tracks include: "Endlessly Bountiful", "Moon Heart Sun Head", and "True Hallucination Speak". Now Paul Masvidal confirmed that the new album is coming in the fall of 2013.
Florida's melodic death metal band The Absence posted a "major announcement" video clip on their Facebook page. The clip plays for twenty seconds before showing the title for the next release, Oceans. Advanced pre-orders for the release along with other merchandise can be found on their website.
Irish post-rock group God Is An Astronaut has announced a September release date for their new album, the title of which has not yet been released. This will be the band's first release since 2010's Age Of The Fifth Sun.
