The Norwegian band Kvelertak, acclaimed for their blend of black metal and hardcore punk on their eponymous debut album, have just announced the release of the first single for their upcoming album Meir. The single "Bruane Brenn" is available on iTunes since yesterday in all of Scandinavia, and it will come out on January 28th in the rest of the world. You can see the single artwork, created by Seldon Hunt, below. The album itself is scheduled to be released in March this year.
Atmospheric black metal veterans Summoning have posted an update on their website confirming that they are about to finish their upcoming album Old Mornings Dawn. Furthermore, they stated that there will be an English speaking guest on the album doing narration on two songs. The release date is now planned for March/April.
Stratovarius has premiered a brand new track off their upcoming album Nemesis. You can listen to the new song called "Halcyon Days" right here. The new album will see the light of day on February 26th in North America through Eagle Rock's Armoury Records and February 22nd in Europe via earMUSIC. Power metal legends from Germany, Blind Guardian, have just announced the upcoming release of A Traveler's Guide To Space And Time, a limited edition that covers the complete Virgin Era (the record company brought out all the band's records between 1988 and 2004). That includes seven studio albums (from Battalions Of Fear to A Night At The Opera, the live albums Tokyo Tales and Live and other goodies such as demo tapes, live rarities and extensive booklets.
Austria's contribution to atmospheric black metal, Summoning, have just informed fans on their homepage that the composition process of their newest, yet untitled album has come to an end. The two man group, consisting of Silenius and Protector, are now going to record the selected 7 songs and one intro in the following months, as well as work on the visuals for the album.
