Gorgoroth - Complete Work On New Album

The ninth Gorgoroth album, "Quantos Possunt ad Satanitatem Trahunt", has now been completed. The album was recorded in Tomas Asklund's Monolith Studio, and features Infernus on guitars, Frank Watkins (Obituary) on bass, Pest on vocals and Tomas Asklund on drums. Since Infernus wrote all the music for the album and extensive rehearsals and a pre-recording had also been made before second guitarist Tormentor re-joined the band last year, it was decided that it would be more convenient for Infernus to record all the guitars on the album. The album is produced by Infernus and co-produced/engineered by Tomas Asklund. It will be mastered at Cutting Room Studios in Stockholm in July. It will be released in Europe by Regain Records on October 21st and in the US on November 11th.

"Quantos Possunt ad Satanitatem Trahunt" tentative tracklisting:

01. Introibo ad Alatare Satanas
02. Aneuthanasia
03. Building a Man
04. Prayer
05. Rebirth
06. Cleansing Fire
07. New Breed
08. Human Sacrifice
09. Satan-Prometheus

Obtest - Sign With Osmose Productions

Obtest, the metal music band from Vilnius, Lithuania, already well familiar to pagan music community all over Europe, are reaching a new goal: to conquer the rest of the world. Such scope is not without reason. The band has just inked a deal with the famous French label Osmose Productions for release of a new album "Gyvybės Medis". This company specializes in heavy music industry for almost two decades now, and during that time has deservedly earned a name of one of the most influential metal labels worldwide, discovering and raising few dozens of nowadays' worldwide acclaimed artists. Such luminaries as Immortal, Enslaved, Dark Tranquillity, Marduk, Shining, Absu, Masters Hammer, Melechesh, Sigh, Vital Remains, Impaled Nazarene, Necromantia or Angelcorpse is enough to mention to realize the impact of this company in black, death, pagan or thrash metal market.

Much like the entire catalogue of French label, new Obtest album will be distributed in music shops and via independent retailers worldwide, including Japan, Canada, Australia, USA and the entire Europe. Ledo takas, long-lived label of the band, has secured an exclusive right to release and distribute new Obtest album in the Baltic States.
"Gyvybės Medis" will be released in three different formats: digipak compact disk, picture vinyl record and collectors' A5 sized CD book. Due to peripeteia around this new deal, the release date is postponed for later time than expected before, yet it is clear and steady: the fourth Obtest album will be born on fourth day of April, the fourth month of the year 2008. New Obtest merchandise series will be presented at the same time.

"Such a twist in the new album publication was surprising. We have learned about it some time ago, and were pleasantly surprised. We hope that our new album will be available to all fans of the band even at the utmost ends of the earth" - comments Obtest.
"This deal is the most significant Obtest achievement in releasing field so far, and it is especially exciting that this pact is entered exactly with Osmose. It is an honour to put a unique music writing musicians in touch with publishing professionals who know their stuff. I am sure that this alliance will be versatilely beneficial, and we will live the first results pretty soon" - resumes Ledo Takas Records chief and Obtest manager Tadas Kazlauskas.

Nile - New Album Info

The following announcements were posted on Nile's official myspace by guitarist Karl Sanders:

"We are currently finishing the mixes on the new Nile album entitled "Ithyphallic", our first album for Nuclear Blast. So far we have been nothing but thrilled to work with the entire cast at NB, they have treated us exceptionally well and have given the band a ferocious and inspirational new lease on life. Dallas, George and I are convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that this new record contains our best material yet, and Neil Kernon is working overtime to ensure that every single blasphemous note is heard in all its primal savagery.

There are 9 songs and one short acoustic piece, 2 of which are epic length songs, yet overall a wide range of tempos, some doomy, exotic elements as well as some unbelievably fast and catchy Metal.

A few song titles: "Language Of The Shadows", "Even The Gods Must Die", "The Infinity Of Stone", "Ithyphallic" and "Papyrii Containg The Spell To Preserve Its Possessor Against Attacks From He Who Is In The Water".

We are, as could be expected, very much looking forward to our upcoming Australian Tour, our last tip down under went exceptionally well and we cant wait to play again for the rabid Aussie Metal fans. We will also indeed be bringing the Nile Brand of Ithyphallic Metal to the uninitiated masses at the summer Ozzfest, and, quite welcomely, playing our own Nile headlining shows for the off - Ozz days.
We are also anxious for the European Nile Fall tour that is in the works, where we will finally be able to play a nice long Nile set covering a wide range of material from all our albums."

"Alright folks, we are getting closer: we just tracked the drums for song number 9 , which has yet to be named properly, but could very well be doomed to carry the monicker "Nothing Is Sacred".
