Leeway - Frontman Eddie Sutton Dies

Eddie Sutton, lead singer of the iconic New York hardcore/thrash metal band Leeway, died last Friday (April 19th) after a three-year battle with Stage 3 Adenocarcinoma. He was 59 years old, and a funeral for him will be held this coming Tuesday (April 23rd). In other news, a benefit concert in honor of Sutton is scheduled to take place at the Debonair Music Hall in Teaneck, New Jersey on June 14th.

UFO - Call It Quits

UFO frontman Phil Mogg confirmed in a recent interview with Ultimate Classic Rock that, following a 55-year run, the legendary hard rock/heavy metal band has officially called it quits. This news comes nearly two years after UFO had to cancel a tour, due to Mogg's recovery after suffering a heart attack.

Obituary - Release 'Barely Alive' Music Video

Death metal titans Obituary have released a music video for "Barely Alive" from their most recent studio album, last year's Dying Of Everything. The video was released to coincide with their upcoming North American tour with Amon Amarth (also featuring Cannibal Corpse and Frozen Souls), which begins this Sunday, April 21st.

Crimson Glory - Will Put Out Next Studio Album In 2025

Recently-reunited progressive metal pioneers Crimson Glory are in the process of writing their long-awaited follow-up to 1999's Astronomica, which according to guitarist Ben Jackson is tentatively due in the fall of 2025. In anticipation of the record, the band released its first song in 25 years "Triskaideka" last January.

Exodus - To Release Live Album In May

Bay Area thrash metal titans Exodus are releasing a live album called British Disaster: The Battle Of '89 - Live At The Astoria on May 31st, 2024 via Nuclear Blast, around the same month the band begins recording their next studio album. British Disaster was recorded live on March 8th, 1989 at the London Astoria as Exodus were touring behind their third album Fabulous Disaster, and in support of it, the band have released a live video of that album's title track from the concert. Black Sabbath - 'Anno Domini 1989-1995' Box Set Due In May

After more than two years since its first announcement, heavy metal icons Black Sabbath are set to release the box set of Tony Martin-era albums, titled Anno Domini 1989-1995, on May 31st via Rhino Records. The box set includes remasters of 1989's Headless Cross, 1990's Tyr and 1994's Cross Purposes, while 1995's Forbidden was remixed by guitarist Tony Iommi specifically for this package. Canadian speed metal pioneers Exciter have announced dates for a summer 2024 North American tour called 'Feel Evil Like The Knife', with Midnight as co-headliner and support from Wraith and Hellwitch. Marillion - To Release Live Album In June

British progressive rock veterans Marillion have announced that they are releasing a live album, entitled An Hour Before It's Dark: Live In Port Zélande 2023, on June 21st. It was recorded live from March 17th to March 19th of last year at Center Parcs, Port Zélande, The Netherlands, and saw the band performing their most recent album An Hour Before It's Dark; a live version of "Reprogram The Gene" from the concert is below. Testament - New Album In Pre-Production Phase

Testament bassist Steve DiGiorgio confirmed in a new interview with 'For Bass Players Only' that they have been in the pre-produciton phase of their upcoming album. The follow-up to 2020's Titans Of Creation is planned for release later this year or next year, and their debut with Chris Dovas (formerly of Seven Spires) on drums. Stay tuned for more info.
