Witchery - New Album, New Label

WITCHERY Sign Worldwide Deal With Century Media Records; New Album Set For A Late March Release
12.12.2005

Sweden's WITCHERY have returned from the dead after a two year hiatus to sign a worldwide deal with Century Media Records and deliver their highly-anticipated fourth full-length offering Don't Fear The Reaper, which is set for a late March release.

Led by Jensen (The Haunted), Richard Corpse, Toxine and Mique, WITCHERY's spell was cast upon our earthly existence back in 1997. Before recording their debut album, Restless And Dead, Jensen recruited Sharlee D'Angelo (Arch Enemy, ex-Mercyful Fate) and got him on board for the unholy alliance. Subsequently, the band released the Witchburner EP (feat. cover songs by Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, W.A.S.P. and Accept). Their second full-length album, Dead, Hot And Ready, stirred up a strong buzz in the underground metal scene, helping the band tour the U.S. and Europe.

In 2001, the group delivered Symphony For The Devil, their first album staring drummer Martin Axenrot (Bloodbath, Opeth), which quickly solidified them as one of the genre's best. Jensen's touring commitments with The Haunted forced WITCHERY into hibernation for some time, but the band finally recorded their new masterpiece Don't Fear The Reaper at Berno Studios in the Fall of 2004. The album was mixed by Tue Madsen at Antfarm Studios (The Haunted, Heaven Shall Burn, Mnemic) and features the band's catchiest, yet most savage material to date.

Jensen (guitars) further describes his excitement over their new deal: "Finally, I'll say it again...finally, WITCHERY has signed a new deal. This time with Century Media. I'm really glad that we will be handled by the same team that has done such a great job for our other bands - The Haunted and Arch Enemy. Our new album, Don't Fear The Reaper, has been recorded, mixed and mastered since October 2004, so it feels really great to be able to say to all the WITCHERY fans I've met over the past years that the album will definitely be out early next year! A new website will be up and running soon too, so keep an eye out for that. There will be touring and major festivals appearances coming up next year, as well. See you all out there soon."

Tristania - Update On New Album

Fan update - December 11.2005

The band feels it is about time to reveal some more details regarding the upcoming album.

It looks like it will be recorded in March, and they are happy to announce that it will be produced by Waldemar Sorychta.

For this last week they have been working together with him on the pre-production in their studio. The collaboration seems to work perfect, and they are now confident that he will be the perfect producer for them in order to achieve the best possible result.

As Waldemar Sorychta has produced some of their favorite metal albums (Ceremony of Opposites, Wolfheart, Wildhoney), they already knew that he was a brilliant producer. It was a huge relief to find that they also are working very well together. In the end, it was exactly what they were hoping for.

Tristania is confident that next year's album will be a great one. The songs that are ready are really strong, and with Waldemar's skills added , everyone involved are sure it will be a killer.

Destroyer 666 - Update

Our hounour and respect to all those who have supported the band over the last few years. Finally a new site to clarify the rumours, statiate the curious and enthrall the devout. First off, Id like to thank and send Hails to our new webmaster L.Kaos.

Since 2004 D666 has a new bass player. Almost human Matt, (part) man behind London based Razor of Occam

We can announce that D666 will probably tour next April. We are hoping to organize a European tour along with REVENGE.

Im also working on getting D666 to Sth America. So I urge all the Sth American maniacs to send your death threats to Mutliation Records.

D666 has given permission to Hells HeadBangers label to release, later this year, the Pic. Disc version of "Cold Steel...for an Iron Age" It will come with a new revised cover, and will also come with a jacket/sleeve featuring different artwork again. This is off course important for the band. As the unsolicited artwork from the previously released CD/LP S.O.M version still ranks as one of the worst attempts at record cover design ever attempted.

This new version will feature an extra track form the "Cold Steel..." session entitled "The Dragon" and will also feature alternate versions of "The Calling" and "The Fall of Shadows".

We are currently working on an LP, featuring all D666 7" tracks. As well as 2 unreleased tracks which were originally recorded Oct.2003 as 7" to commerate that years aussie tour. Alas, I remained unsatisfied with the vocals, and the songs sat around forgotten till recently. We hope this will be of benefit for those still tormenting (me) for copies of the 7"s.
May be released Jan 2006.

Belphegor - Studio Update, LP Release

Tuesday, 29. November 2005
Recording drums, bass and the four monster rhythm guitars

Hey there, what's up?
After two weeks of being in the studio working very intense, here u go for another update, .....first, it's a real pleasure recording at Stage One - the studio's killer, so I know the next couple of months are gonna be fuckin´ memorable, this will be a Monster of a record.

Nefastus nailed the ten commandments in less then 6 days of hard snare attacking, wow that's Olympia. This is definitely the tightest - heaviest drumming you will hear on a Belphegor album till now. The high speed-blast-beats and double bass drums turned out most precise and brutal, to be honest it's already blowing us away. The German maniac with polish blood in his veins deserves a gold medal for it! We decided for the new Warwick/Corvette 4-string bass that Barth bought for the bass recordings, with a bit of old-school Master distortion the parts were played directly in the sound desk.

Helmuth and the producer Andy took only 4 - 5 hours to find "the" perfect guitar sound. There were a lot of choices between amps, pedals and so forth, but in the end the gear was the band's Rectifier Mesa Boogie amp, one 800 Marshall cabinett 4x12, and several Jackson Guitars. Helmuth and Sigurd shredded the four rhythm guitars in five days, with the most dynamics possible. Well, all we need now is some sick samples, the cold melody/overdub guitar parts and loads of chaos -leads, and of course the vocals.

Die 10 Werke are starting to show their real form and I can say we're pretty damn pleased, can't wait till this masterpiece is finally finished. Well, the 2nd session in Stage One Studios takes place from 22.-29. December, more news to come. The hell-crew shot some photos during the recordings. A new booking agent, Rock The Nation took over all BELPHEGOR festival bookings for season 2006.

Belphegor´s GOATREICH FLESHCULT on Lp format in Feb. 06
The band is proud to announce that a serious company for the GOATREICH - FLESHCULT opus on Lp format has been found. Await the limited edition of 800 cps. via Goatruler Productions/Ger, in early February 06, ( gatefold and heavy vinyl - 180 gr. )
There is a new fan site in Polish language, pozdrowienia dla Zoutar Wielki.

Tristania - Update

Fan update - October 2005

First of all we would like thank the ones that showed up and supported us on Wave Gotik Treffen, Summer Breeze and Wacken Open Air. We had a great time.

As most of you know by now; we're currently in writing mode. Østen has been writing quite some of the lyrics, and both Anders and Einar are working busily with pre-production of the songs. Right now we are starting to jam on the new material as a complete band in the rehearsal room. We learned with Ashes how fruitful this can turn out; especially considering the vocals. The whole band is shaping the material together during this process, and each member adds a personal touch to his/her lines. Usually new ideas also is born through this process, and to a certain degree we are composing music from scratch this way. This time around we also have a "new" creative force in Svein Terje.

Not doing too many gigs at the moment, as we want to focus on the song writing. One of the few concerts we will do this period is in Norway: We will play the Karmøygeddon Arctic Festival, in Haugesund on November 12 th - together with Tömmermenn (some of us are huge fans of their music) and Evergrey, among others.

We were earlier hoping to do a full US tour during this autumn. Although a couple of offers came up, the right offer to support a headliner that somehow fits our sound didn't come up this time. The reason for this was mainly that a possible US tour would need to take place within a quite short time frame (after the summer festivals, before pre-production of the upcoming album). As US is a new territory to tour for us (Metalfest, LA in 2000 is our only US gig so far) we need to support a bigger band in order to tour the States. Off course no one can control who is touring at a given time, but we're confident that the first proper US tour will happen after the release of next year's album. We know from all the fan mail we have got during the years that a lot of people want us to come to US. Well, soon you will get this opportunity - we hope you'll use it!

Everything goes really well concerning writing the new material. Einar has built a home studio in the basement of his house, and we work there almost every weekend with pre-production of the new songs - using Nuendo. Quite soon we will also have ready a recording room for vocals connected to the studio. Other than that we are e-mailing ideas back and forth to each other and it slowly the songs are developed.

Novembre - Release Date Postponed

Dear Novembre Fans. Unfortunately, what you've read on the Forum is true. The release date for NOVEMBRE's fifth album 'MATERIA' has been postponed until April 2006. The reasons are purely technical (i.e. re-mastering, artwork changes, etc...) and have nothing to do with the 'health' of the band. The announced European Tour is delayed a little too but there is no reason to be worried - we will be coming to a venue near you soon enough! Anyway, the band want to thank the fans for expressing their concern and understandable disappointment. Just be a little more patient, we can assure you it will all be worth it.

Thanx, NOVEMBRE XXX

Draconian - New Material Soon

Posted 14.09.2005 - New bonus-album in progress...

Draconian is about to record a bonus album this fall. Note that it's NOT the follow up to "Arcane Rain Fell". The album will feature three new songs, two or three demo songs in new versions and three covers. As for the new songs; we can promise heavy and truly tearful songs in dark gothic splendor. Prepare to weep!

The working title is "The Burning Halo" and the album will be released through Napalm Records at the end of the year.

Novembers Doom - Cancels European Tour

September 2nd, 2005

EUROPEAN CANCELATION
It is with much sadness, and genuine regret, that we, NOVEMBERS DOOM, must announce a cancelation for our upcoming European performances this October. While making our final arrangements for travel, we have encountered many logistic and legal setbacks, including (but not limited to) crossing European borders with the proper paperwork and permits in time to allow us entry to perform the scheduled dates. Other business related issues have come to our attention as well, making this trip difficult, and not as cost effective as originally planned. We felt it was ideal to make the decision now, and work towards a proper tour in 2006, than cancel this trip at the last moment, and disappoint anyone that would come to see us perform. We regret not being able to appear at the ProgPower Festival in the Netherlands on October 1st, The Dutch Day of Doom IV on October 2nd, and the several shows booked in the UK for that week. We strongly apologize to the organizers of these shows, as well to the fans, and we do promise you, we are doing everything in our means to reschedule these dates, and perform in Europe for you in 2006.

Novembers Doom will however complete our obligations to perform at the Day of the Equinox festival in Toronto Canada, on October 14th, 2005.

We appreciate all your understanding, and continued support, and to those who will be disappointed in this, we promise to make it up to you very soon.
