Ex Deo have officially pulled out of some dates on the Ensiferum tour for visa matters beyond the band's control.

The good news is we will be doing the last week of shows from Chicago to New York. We're planning some Ex Deo stuff next year in America at the moment. We've lots of supporters that will be disappointed if it doesn't happen so we'll try our best to make it up next year."

Mortiis - Dutch And Belgian Shows In December

Mortiis will be unleashing their collective demons on The Netherlands and Belgium during a four-show jaunt to continental Europe.

"We're all looking forward to going back to Holland," said band namesake Mortiis. "We haven't played there in a long time and we always had a great time there. We're also doing a couple of towns there we haven't played before, so that will be interesting as well."

Following the three Dutch shows, the band will head to Belgium for the Hermes Project Event, where they will play with Clan Of Xymox.

Mortiis has been putting the finishing touches on The Great Deceiver, the group's long-awaited follow-up to 2005's The Grudge. Tracks from the record can be heard - and seen - via the videos for "Doppelganger" and "Zeitgeist" on Mortiis's YouTube channel. Mortiis also promises to preview several new songs during the live shows.

"We're gearing up to release The Great Deceiver at long last, and it felt like it would make sense to do a few shows before 2009 comes to an end," Mortiis said. "Shake the dust off and get back into the "live mode", so to speak. We obviously plan on coming back to The Netherlands/Belgium and as many other countries as possible during 2010."

Live dates are as follows:

12/16/09 - Zaandam, Kade
12/17/09 - Rotterdam, Watt Basement
12/18/09 - Leeuwarden, Gloppe
12/19/09 - Heule, OC De Vonke

3 Inches Of Blood - Former Bassist Dies In Accident

Weekly Volcano has posted the following article:

"We have lost a friend, family member, lover, musician and all around good person," posted Doyle's Public House co-owner Russ Heaton on his popular Tacoma bar's website.

It is with a sad heart that I report that Brian Redman died Saturday night in a motor vehicle accident in Tacoma. Redman recently returned to Tacoma after living in Southern California for a short stint. Before he left for California, he tended bar at Doyle's and fronted the rock band the Dirty Knockers. Redman also had a two-year run as bassist for metal band 3 Inches Of Blood. Doyle's Public House will be closed today (Sunday 09/27) as the owners and staff mourn the lost of their friend. On behalf of everyone at the Weekly Volcano, I extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Brian Redman."

3 Inches Of Blood issued the following statement:

"We are shocked and saddened by the tragic loss of our friend and former band mate Brian Redman. Brian was a outgoing and charismatic person who was great friends with most people he met. We couldn't help but smile or laugh when he was around. He had such a likable personality but also had a knack for putting serious things into perspective.

While in the band Brian played a big part. He joined the band shortly after signing a big record deal, and endured the turmoil that followed after recording our "Advance and Vanquish" album. For a time the bands future was uncertain, but Brian was unwavering in his desire to play this music with us. He was loved by many and enjoyed life to the fullest. Goodbye Brian, our fallen brother. You will be greatly missed."

Mnemic - Enter The Studio

Danish metallers Mnemic have entered the studio to begin recording their 4th studio album, entitled "Sons Of The System" for a January 2010 release via Nuclear Blast Records.

The band states: "After a minor 2 year break from touring, we have returned to the studio, to record 15 brand new tracks. Our batteries are re-charged and we are extremely excited to let you all hear the new stuff. The material it self is a mixture of grind, rock, polyrhytmics, electronics and represents the sound of a more mature Mnemic, at least in our humble opinion. Compared to the last album, the recordings will be kept completely on Danish soil. This time we are more within our own comfort zone, and will be working with the same dude that made us 2 great sounding albums in the past, which is none other than Tue Madsen, who is a really good friend and a great producer. The drums will be tracked at the Antfarm Studio, while guitars, bass and vocals will be immortalized at the bands own studio, under Tue's supervision. At the end of the recording process, electronics, mix and mastering will then again be handled at the Antfarm Studios. During the recording process we will try to keep you all updated on the progress via this location."
