Readers of the Swedish tabloid Aftonbladet - one of the larger daily newspapers in the Nordic countries - have chosen In Flames' 2006 album Come Clarity as the best Swedish album of the past decade. In Flames got about a quarter of all votes, ending up as the only metal related band in the top 10. Four albums of Swedish rock band Kent appeared in the top 10 too. Top 10 results "Best Swedish Album Of The Decade" here.

Bruce Springsteen's 15th studio album Magic, released in 2007, was voted best album by a foreign (non-Swedish) artist, before Eminem, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Linkin Park. See the top 10 here.

How much HEAD did In Flames have to give to get such an award ?? In Flames hasnt done anything worth listening to in the past 10 years ... Just FAIL !!!!!!! SO many great bands flood out of sweden, In Flames would have been last on my list ...

Gosh, some metalheads can be so narrow-minded.

All you people do is whine about how much of a joke In Flames is these days and that this or that band with this or that album should have won, but you're missing the point. Look at the big picture. A metal album - regardless of the quality - has been voted best Swedish album (open to all genres) of the decade in a tabloid which has nothing to do with metal at all. C'mon, this is pretty cool.

But yeah, the readers of that newspaper have indeed a horrible taste in music. That I will agree with.

Who cares if its metal? It sucks.
Warlock84 - 31.12.2009 at 22:38
Agreed... not the best choice. But it could be worse... they could have said A Sense Of Purpose. I'm pretty shocked that neither Opeth or Amon Amarth got the honor.

Well Come Clarity is really good.
Not that good though and Clayman should have deserved the award instead.
