Enthroned - Forced By Anti-Fascist Organization To Cancel Show
Belgium black metal squad Enthroned have issued the following news on their MySpace blog:
"It is with deep regrets I have to inform you, that we have been forced to cancel Enthroned's appearance at "Bad Vibrations over Munster" fest this next April. It seems that the anti-fascist organisation "Antifa" cannot make the difference between a Nazi/fascist concentration and a non-political Black metal festival with NO NSBM band or ideas involved! We received this mail from the local organiser:
"Hey man. Bad news about the gig in Münster on 03.04. The venue has cancelled my event because of a threat of Antifa and I switched to Helvete Club Oberhausen. The owner of Sputnikhalle Münster don't want to make any contracts, nor give me any assurance for 03.04. Besides I wanted to offer both concerts (Bad Vibrations over Münster I and II) as a combi-ticket. So now I can't guarantee for an financial success... Not even that this event will take place, because I can't have any contract with the venue. I am afraid I must cancel this gig. It will be the first time I cancel a published event. I am very sorry about it... Kind Regards."
No use to say that this kind of action is just lame and in some sort of way laughable coming from an organisation which promotes anti-fascism through fascists acts..."
The event was set to place in Münster, Germany, featuring Enthroned, Cirith Gorgor, Moribund Oblivion, On Horns Impaled and Overgard on the bill.

Written by Thryce on 25.02.2010 at 15:42 Nah, that was one single dude who called himself the "Berlin Institute for Research on Fascism and Antifascistic Action" who went totally over the top and paranoid, even more so than Antifa. And it was the sig rune in Moonsorrow's logo and the tiwaz rune in Týr's logo that "clearly" indicated that these two bands are Nazis. He also claimed that many German pagan metal bands only sing in German to display their Aryan heritage and stuff like that. In fact even the Antifa distanced itself from his statements.

They make their music and do their gigs and have to feed their families in the end of the day, and have the money to support themselves while they are writing and recording the next album. They like it or not, some of their fans are at least simpathetic to extreme right wing ideas, making a stand would have no other result than pushing away part of their fans and making them poorer. Anti-fascist organizations (i don't know Antifa) are many times anarchist organizations hidden under the hood of anti-fascism to make them socially acceptable. They are led by extreme left wing people that will always oppose to Metal concerts, because they like going to Raves and having some pills to freak out.
