Omnivium, the upcoming album of technical death metallers Obscura will be released on March 29th through Relapse Records. Cover artwork can be found below, while the complete tracklist and more details are available here.

According to a press release, Omnivium finds the band pushing the progressive edges of the genre's sounds to new heights while delivering the technical metal that has become their calling card. The band gracefully blends brutality and beauty with complex, commanding songs played at stunningly virtuosic levels. Ominivum very clearly raises the bar for extreme, technical metal and is Obscura's finest moment to date. Get excited!

One of the few albums I'm really looking forward to. I remember reading that Muenzner was employing eight finger tapping on this album; I REALLY have high hopes for this!

To me it looks like a mahussive sperm penetrating an equally ginormous egg... in space. except the egg has teeth inside it. something about the band members' fear of parenthood?

I think i would buy this album in a store even if i had no clue what band it was because that cover artwork is just too cool.
