Official press release
Converge has signed another worldwide deal with Epitaph Records, with whom they originally signed in late 2003 and have since released three albums. According to the band, they're staying with Epitaph "because they are good people." Deathwish Inc., the label co-owned by Converge frontman Jacob Bannon, will continue to handle the band's vinyl releases.
Converge will commence writing their next album shortly after playing the only shows they currently have scheduled, which are the following:
8/19 - USA - Richmond, VA @ Best Friends Day
8/24 - USA - Brooklyn, NY @ House of Vans (free show) w/ Cold Cave, All Pigs Must Die

| Converge is one of only three metalcore bands I think actually bring something worthy to the table, along with Zao and Yakuza. |

Yakuza did not sound metalcore last time I checked their last album and their set at roadburn o___o .
I always saw them as being pretty avantgarde and not belonging to any particular genre besides their own thing. |

I suppose they fit in better with post-hardcore - I just don't listen to enough post-hardcore to say whether or not that's true, so it's easier for me to lump them in with metalcore bands. |
