Shining [NOR] - European Tour In November, To Release Live Album And DVD

Since Norway's jazz-metal outfit, Shining, shocked the music world with their genre-defining and now classic Blackjazz in January 2010, people have been asking themselves if it's humanly possible at all to reproduce the sheer ferocity and aggressiveness on a stage, while still retaining the machinelike precision displayed in their punishing studio tracks. See for yourself that Shining makes it more than possible when they tour Europe this November.

European tour dates:

05-NOV - Damnation Festival, Leeds (UK)
06-NOV - Fleece, Bristol (UK)
08-NOV - Patronaat, Haarlem (NL)
09-NOV - Doornroosje, Nijmegen (NL)
10-NOV - Point FMR (Musiques Volantes Festival), Paris (FR)
11-NOV - STUK, Leuven (B)
12-NOV - ULU, London (UK) W/ Devin Townsend Project (Deconstruction show)
14-NOV - De Kreun, Kortrijk (B)
16-NOV - Jagerklause, Berlin (GER)
17-NOV - Knust, Hamburg (GER)
18-NOV - Saint Oberhausen, Oberhausen (GER)

In other news, for the first time ever, the raw energy of the band's legendary live performances has been captured on tape in a setting organized solely by the band itself.

Produced by the multi-talented front-man Munkeby, and backed by the same mixing and mastering team as on their previous Blackjazz studio album, we could not get a truer version of what Blackjazz is meant to be. Straight from the horse's mouth, this is the new standard that bands will strive to match for the next 10 or 20 years to come.

Ah, another "European" tour.

While this is true, you have to give small bands credit when they try to go on tours. Mercenary were quite successful for a newcomer back in 2005-2007 and they still ended up with a 0 below the line on all the tours they did at that time. And they were happy not to have to pay extra. Each well received small tour should result in a slightly bigger one the next time. All we have to do now is receive them well

Well, I wish I had a chance to receive a band well but I don't feel so bad, seeing that even richer or countries with a larger number of venues don't cut it for tours either nowadays. The situation should get better though... but when? Having said all that, I do admire them for touring in such conditions.

The place where they play in Hamburg has a capacity of 500 people. That should say a lot about what big of an audience they expect.
