03:40 - !J.O.O.E.! I realise now I get a lot of Boards of Canada vibes from it, which would explain why I like it so much.
03:39 - Apothecary Just scoping this [link] now, and it's pretty damn good. So I'm sure a full playthrough will be quite stimulating
03:38 - !J.O.O.E.! I think it'll suit your mood. It's more of an experiment in cinematic subtlety. Constantly shifting in a really mellow and pleasing way, with the odd edge here and there.
03:36 - Apothecary I just picked up from the urban pharmacist, so that'll probably be a good album to mellow out to tonight :)
03:34 - !J.O.O.E.! I still read it is drone as you mentioned DBR ;) Yeah I really like it. Really diverse mix of elements so it's chilled, creepy and heavy depending on what part of the album you're at.
03:32 - Apothecary Sorry, I meant *drone throne, not doom throne hahaha. I've seen you mention that Echoes Of Yul album though. That good, eh?
03:29 - !J.O.O.E.! I'd probably go for that Echoes of Yul record, although it's fairly light on the doom part.
German folk metallers Die Apokalyptischen Reiter have recently announced the supporting bands for their The Greatest Of The Best European Tour 2012. With 20 stations in England, France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and Germany (see the dates below), they will tour together with two different band lineups.
For the tour start on April 21st, 2012, at the Durbuy Rock Festival in Belgium, Germany's cult-alternative rock band Emil Bulls will join the tour bus and will be with Die Apokalyptischen Reiter for eleven shows in Benelux, France, UK, Spain and Italy as the main support. Emil Bulls are probably one of the figureheads in the German alternative rock scene and are standing for an explosive live show. Their recent album Oceanic is the most successful album in their long lasting band history.
For the shows in the German speaking area, meaning Germany, Austria and Switzerland, it was chosen the band Kontrust. Kontrust, with the headquarters in Vienna, caused quite a stir in the past two years with their extraordinary live shows and unusual video clips, also over the borders of Austria. One of the highlights probably was their performance at the Polish Woodstock Festival in front of over 100.000 people last summer.
The position for the opening act for the whole European tour was filled by the 5 Danes of Malrun. With their debut album Beauty In Chaos they got good press echoes of the metal media from all over Europe and they stand for melodic, modern metal.
