About the band's upcoming 7th album and follow-up to 2009's Children Of The Dark Waters, Finnish extreme power metallers Eternal Tears Of Sorrow issue the following update.

Posted on their official website: "Happy new year 2012 guys and gals! The year 2011 was intriguing for us. We recorded the first half of the forthcoming album. If everything had gone as planned, we would have had our seventh album almost finished by now. However, due to some unfortunate incidents, the second recording session has been rescheduled to next spring.

But anyway, 2012 is going to be an exciting year for us, and we're probably going to have some exciting news next year! We hope your year will be great, too!"

I wasn't really anticipating this release or anything, but it's sad how "unfortunate incidents" happen to bands. Hope this won't turn into another Charon story.

Whoa? New album is going to be out this or next year? I don't understand this.

Sweet good news. Looking forward to this. Too bad for the "unfortunate incidents"...

But Mora, what are we supposed to do if you realise the fact that our world is gonna end in next 12 months?

Cry and die

I am going to kill myself as soon as I investigate that Jari will not release Time in 2012 anyway so I guess my future has already been solved, haha!

If Jari doesn't care about Time, it's not worth killing yourself over it

It's a bummer we won't see anything in 2012... I think to bridge the time lapse and wait for Eternal's new work... maybe it would be have been smart to release the album in two parts. Part 1 (2012), Part 2 (2013). Six perfect amazing tracks! or.... just release it as an EP. EPs are nice teasers until a full-length comes out. Just my two cents. This worked well for Stratovarius when they split up Elements in two parts amid a busy tour schedule.
