GI-ANT sounds like a great idea for a movie |

I can see Disney-Pixar picking it up... maybe I should patent it quickly lest they steal my idea >.> |

Or the elite military G.I. Ant? |

| Nice one, I like the combined clean and growled vocals. All other quite the Ahab style I like so much. |

| One of my favourite bands (Drudkh) already disappointed me this year. By the sound of this snippet, Ahab won't! |

Album cover posted today by the band, looks kinda weird but pretty great nonetheless

Urgh.... Not sure if want... Probably not. The first two were so elegant and gave the perfect vibe for the music. This one looks so random.
Edit. the more I look at it, the less I like it. |

It's the kind of artwork that would have worked on many other bands.... but not with Ahab. |

Judging by the teaser and the cover it sounds as if they're going for a more Stoner feel in their music. Not sure if I want that. |

Nah, I don't see stoner, but definitely a post-metal vibe which was already present on their second album.
I think the album will be great, it's just that the artwork is ugly. |

Hope you're right about that, the cover definitely says stoner to me. If you're right it's a really inappropriate sort of cover to put to their music :/ |

| As long as the music is good, I don't care what the cover art looks like. That being said, I don't mind the cover art, but it's certainly not on par with either of the last 2 albums' covers. |

Artwork says nothing about the music. If you have heard their second, you will find the post-metal vibe very obvious and from the teasers it seems like it's going to be in the same vibe (Since there's nothing stoner about that video at all). |

| I personally really like the artwork... but it's very off for a band like Ahab. There's definitely a strong sludge/stoner vibe to it but I'm sure they'll continue musically where they left off. |

Yeah, it might sound shallow but I would like the artwork a lot if it had another logo. It's good for what it is though |

Ahab just put up a "listening session" thing on their Facebook. It's all in German, but totally readable if you just translate it on google. From the listening session it sounds like they are incorporating more post-metal, while using their Funeral Doom aspect more sparingly to diversify the sound. Doesn't sound like sludge or stoner will factor in that much. After reading that article, I'm extremely excited to hear the album. May 25th can't come quick enough. |

Yeah I definitely got a Post-metal vibe from the teaser, the Jazzy drums with the clean vocals were great !
about the cover, maybe it would have been better with a different background color, I like it's idea but it might have been more horrific |

I was really pissed that it was in German, good to know what's it about. Seems like this is going to be MASSIVE |

Wasn't the second album an example of that anyway? It's not like we haven't heard it. |

All I remember about their last full-length was that it disappointed me greatly. I gave that shit like a dozen chances before finally giving up on it. |

Sad, I really like it. The debut is still better but I like it. |

I think Call of the Wretched Sea is excellent, but The Divinity of Oceans just has that little extra that I love about it. |

Depends on what I'm asking for. Their debutmis easily more fearsome and crushing while their second album has mode depth to it and it has some kind of melancolic vibe to it so it's hard to compare. |

Totally agree with you. All I know is I'm stoked for this album. |
