"The Gallwasp", a brand new song from Canadian doom/sludge metal duo Mares Of Thrace is currently streaming online at this location. The song is taken from their upcoming new album The Pilgrimage, due out on CD and digital download this April 24th, the first in the band's multi-album worldwide deal with Sonic Unyon Metal. An LP pressing will follow at a later date.

The Pilgrimage was recorded at Chicago's Engine Studio with producer Sanford Parker (Nachtmystium, Pelican, Yob) and mastered by Collin Jordan at Boiler Room. The artwork was created by Chicago's Scott Shellhamer.

Hey, where did this band come from? I must admit that this sounds surprisingly good. Nothing groundbreaking in any way, shape or form but interesting nonetheless.

Agreed, might give the finished product a listen in April, sounds pretty good.

It does. I've never heard about this duo before today but might be promising judging by that song.

I've never heard about this duo before.

They released their debut in 2010 and Godin took care of the review, he even made it a staff pick. It's nice guitar/drum sludge duo with fine looking ladies as a plus

Pretty sure I've seen both of these chicks in porn.

I hope the porn they''re in is more riveting than the music they play

So I take it you changed your opinion compared to the time you said their music was nice.

Where did I say Mares Of Thrace music was nice? All I remember saying about it was that I found nothing good, actually quite mediocre.

Fount it in the review's thread

Just checked it out and nice indeed. Another sludge band consisting of just a guitar and drums, just like Sardonis and Black Cobra.

I dig this stuff but it's just in the 7 or so mark.

Then I must have changed my opinion on it later on. Listening to it I now actually find it quite mediocre to average I would say in the 5.5 - 6.5 range, depending on my mood.

Hey, where did this band come from?

Trez and Stef two lovely women from western Canada play heavy amount of music. As Doctor said...Godin already covered this band with the review and more importantly..their debut was an excellent stuff. More of that you can check out here.

I feel bad for checking this only for the apparently hot girls. But I will do it nevertheless.
