US death metallers Six Feet Under have announced that their brand new studio album will be titled Undead and will be released in May. In conjunction with the album release, Six Feet Under will return to Europe in August to play some exclusive festival gigs as well as selected club shows with support from label mates Dew-Scented.

Vocalist Chris Barnes commented: "Six Feet Under is not dead! We are 'Undead'! With our return to the European festivals this summer and the addition of new band members to the group's line up, SFU is poised to murder and kill! With the release of the new SFU album Undead this spring we will prove that the Undead shall rise from the crypts of Germany and Europe in 2012!"

The band's upcoming European tour dates are as follows:

11/08/12 - CZE - Jaroměř - Brutal Assault Festival *
12/08/12 - GER - Berlin - Postbahnhof
13/08/12 - GER - Munich - Backstage
14/08/12 - SWI - Pratteln - Galerie
15/08/12 - GER - Essen - Turock
16/08/12 - NED - Kerkrade - Rock Temple

The irony in Barnes's comment is so ironic. When was Six Feet Under even alive or undead or anything to begin with? >_>

Hope this one doesn't suck...

Don't get your hopes up - it's SFU we're talking about.

it's not SFU,...it's Chimaira plus 2
but to be fair, I saw them last year and actually liked it

As long as Barnes is involved, I don't expect anything to change. Even with Chimaira composers in the mix. Which is unfortunate, because they had some pretty decent riffs on their last few albums.

D/K...Chris said that most of the new stuff was written by Rob, so maybe there is hope. But with Dew-Scented opening ,...well they sure will give SFU a run for their money ;-)

No shit? That's probably the best news I've heard in regards to SFU.

Now you're gonna give me expectations or something.

Well,...ummm,...wouldn't go that far! Don't get your hopes up on my account.
But hey, Steve hasn't contributed shit in a long time so I would say that Chris still has the final say,...but on the other hand,...if he doesn't do something to revitalized SFU it might be to late in the long run. Time will tell,...I think the new album is gonna be out May or something and they prolly play some new stuff on the Festivals.

Can't wait!... to be putting this in my bottom five of the year, that is.

A new Cannibal Corpse and Six Feet Under in the same year, Oh goody.

It's almost too good to be true.

It shouldn't worry you. Rob Arnold is a sick guitarist. I've heard all the negative stuff about SFU but will probably check out this album purely because of Rob!
Br00tal Kid - 17.03.2012 at 00:30
Actually they have only one chimaira member with Rob Arnold. I don't consider Kevin Talley as one, because he was and still is in more other bands. Matt Devries joined Fear Factory.
I somehow miss Devries, because he had a cool stage presence on Summer Slaughter. Jeff Hughell won't be able to headbang that good with short hair

I expect much. A mix between The Haunted and The Bleeding. I hope that I don't get disappointed.
