It is now possible to pre-listen to the upcoming new album Rise Of The Phoenix from Finnish melodic death metallers Before The Dawn along with written song-by-song comments by Tuomas Saukkonen at this location. Same shit different album.

No change stylistically with the exception of no more clean vocals. Apparently that was the big shift into "pure" melodeath.

Stronger melodies than on Deathstar though. I can kind of hear Lars still haunting his songwriting at times but sounds OK.

I'd like to hear Lars on vocals... luckily, Winds are apparently writing some new stuff.

Tuomas & Insomnium worshipping. Two things I don't fully understand (limited to finland). Tuomas did stuff, Tuomas did crap. Insomnium started well, Insomnium started hell.
