Paul Di'Anno - Announces Retirement And Farewell Tour

Former Iron Maiden frontman Paul Di'Anno, who later started a solo career, has announced that he will retire next year. Paul Di'Anno was Iron Maiden's singer on the band's first two albums, Iron Maiden and Killers and fronted many other bands, including Gogmagog, Battlezone and Killers.

His statement reads as follows: "I am gonna be 'Pulling The Plug' next year 2013, and making it my 'Farewell Tour'... it was good whilst it lasted. Details will follow in the next few weeks/months."

"To all of you who have been with me from the start and many new friends who have given me the privilege of being able to play and meet so many of you through the years I can't find the right words to tell you all how much I'll miss you. All of you have my love & respect forever, and anyone who knows me knows that ain't a load of bollocks you have kept me going through difficult times, happy times and a lot of heartbreak. I thank you all with all my heart and I'm glad you're not here right now watching me write this crying like a big Jessie (for you mates it means a wuss!) thank you all again, I love you all and wish you all health good fortune and most of all love & happiness. You will be with me always thank you thank you thank you. Timao Corinthians n again te amo simper, Love Paul."

I might attend a show (he was supposed to play with his band in Romania about 2-3 times already but got canceled for other reasons) but I don't expect his voice to be any short of horrid.

He haven't done anything interesting in 30 years, but he did sing on the two best albums ever made by Iron Maiden and for that he'll always have my respect.

Corinthians is a Brazilian football club from Sao Paulo. But what is has to do with Di'Anno except for the fact that Sao Paulo translates to Saint Paukl, I really don't know.

EU NUNCA VOU THE ABANDONAR - I'll never leave you
PORQUE TE AMO - Because I love you
NÓS SOMOS - We are (corinthianos)
GUERREIROS - Warriors (The fans, or maybe the players)
FIEL TORCIDA - Faithful Fans

... and the OBRIGADO's near the "GUERREIROS" and "FIEL TORCIDA" means "Thanks".

That's right. The second biggest football club in Brazil. Di'Anno says "Timao Corinthians n again te amo". Timão is how we call the club, a "love gesture" from the crowd and "N' again te amo" is "And again I love you". He wrote in portuguese, cited the club and also called the team "Timão". Coincidence, no?

Ok Paul, farewell. I don't think anybody really cares that you're retiring since you suck now. Thank you for contributing to the first 2 Iron Maiden albums, but other than that, whatever.
