Erm...correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he quit Iced Earth (for the second time) because he didn't want to keep touring with Iced Earth's (then current) schedule and family commitments? Seems a bit odd to start up another band within two years of saying this...
On the same note, who wants to bet he'll end up being invited back to Iced Earth within a couple of years? |

| I think it's fairly obvious this won't be a huge touring thing. It's probably just something they'll record and then maybe play a few shows, like he wanted to do with Pyramaze. He simply can't tour a lot with his job and all. |

The vocals are fine, and this has nothing to do with Jon Schaffer  I'm a fan of IE too but the past is the past, and that's a pointless comment. All I know is Matt Barlow is an awesome singer and Van Williams is an amazing drummer...and Freddie Vidales is like the Ripper Owens of bass players (what with the plucking from obscurity and all). Nonetheless, this excites me more than a little. |

Williams is an exceptional Drummer he has proved himself album after album with Nevermore. These 'All-Star' groups are just another way to stay relevant, when in most cases they go under the radar. I have no low or high hopes for this Project  |

Lol. You didn't also find it strange that a teaser for a project comprised of a stated vocalist, bassist, and drummer had very little bass...and NO drums? The project must be underway enough to announce, so obviously there is guitar- whether it's played by Vidales or not. As for those grumbling about Barlow...c'mon. The guy loves to sing. There's a video on jewtube of him singing in his uniform. Even if this "project" (key word) never plays a show, having Matt fuckin' Barlow back for another record is the best news I've heard in a long time!!! Bring it! |

See...these are the kinds of posts that the whole entire web needs more of. You see a bit of news that intrigues you (hopefully with the world of aural-entertainment your key focus), you click it, then state why you were intrigued and/or enjoyed the news. It's very elementary. Trolling has definitely become too much of a pastime for some. (Which reminds me...Troy; I doofily spent like half an hour making you and Mr. Juniorhighmouth up there a "...not sure if I agree with both sides...or if I'm just too open-minded..." meme, but I couldn't get it to post  Needless to say, I agreed with his view on Barlow, but really took your side on conduct...after deliberating for a moment. ) Aaanyway...granted- my over-simplification of the process sounds a bit dull. Please don't get me wrong- some colorful and even eccentric posts are downright mandatory for optimum fun, but one thing I'm tired of is how insatiable people get for misconduct. |
