00:06 - Jaeryd17 Oh, and responding to some of the posts after mine 10 pages back, Opeth played 5 songs with death growls in the concert. And they sounded pretty good, better than Royal Albert Hall, but he didn't (or couldn't) do long growls.
23:44 - Jaeryd17 Still, 91 year old guy doing what he really wants to do... and it's metal. That's badass by itself.
23:41 - Jaeryd17 Christopher Lee's new stuff sounds a bit better than the other stuff I've heard from him. Of course, that was a tiny sample, so I can't be sure.
23:38 - psykometal Idk man, awefully hard to beat these kids: [link] lol
"Tillsammans Är Vi Allt", the brand-new video from Swedish extreme metal act Shining can now be streamed in the YouTube-video located below.
The video features a binding story focusing around the themes of addiction and obsession. as envisioned onto visual form by Shining's mastermind Niklas Kvarforth and director Martin Strandberg.
Strandberg, who also directed the band's first video "Förtvivlan, Min Arvedel" worked together with photographer Martin Eriksson of Hill Fifty and producer by Jussi Hyttinen of FLC 415, to bring to life the blood infused, dangerous visions.
Featured in the video are also Swedish model December Wiklund, and original guest vocalist from "Tillsammans Är Vi Allt": famed Swedish singer Håkan "Nordman" Hemlin, who delivers a captivating performance with his anguish-fueled rough vocals.
And I think his extreme habit of alienating the audience, though bizarre in its sleaze, is at least interesting to see. It's obvious he didn't want to make a video that anybody liked, and I can respect that in a way.
But I don't understand why people are saying the music is shit. I don't see what's wrong with it in the least. Maybe where you come from, it's overhyped, but otherwise it seems you're just too biased against Kvarforth.

Woah, I'm biased simply because I don't like it? Please...
I'm a huge fan of their first 5 albums. Don't remember that much from the VI nowdays so I won't comment on that one but I strongly disliked their latest and I do find it mediocre. Fail to see why you even mention "biased". I know a few people here who enjoy their previous works, he just has let me and a few others down big time with their last 2 albums (one for me).

Don't take it so personally man... I'm just saying what the situation here looks like, since most people in MS have a borderline hate for Kvarforth, and I've seen alot of comments that just mock most of what he's made.
If you're not biased, that's great. But doesn't it seem to you that alot of people still are?
Sure his last 2 albums were relatively uninspired.. but surely they're still way more diverse and intense than 98% of anything being released as metal.

With that statement it seems like your the biased one...
As for the music I dont think its terrible but it is indeed very mediocre which can easily be seen as terrible in comparison to Shinings past music and the video is shitty too(fake boobs are nothin special). So really the frontman should not be acting as "coolguy" as he does when he plays boring music.

I don't think about Kvarforth's personality or the band's past when I listen to the music, so I think that keeps the bias to a minimum. The last 2 albums had plenty of great moments. But sure, you can compare them to the past albums, and then you'll easily find reasons to feel worse about them.

That was my point earlier... I don't know everybody here but I'm pretty sure people like Joe and Marcel are able to appreciate Shining's music despite how much of a retard Kvarforth is. How much I hate him doesn't matter when it comes to his music which I think most of us are able to judge on its own (I have the same feelings towards Burzum) so hat's why I still don't get your "Bias" comment.
You can see that most comments that are negative towards him are just about that... About Kvarforth. His music is another subject. I laugh my ass off at his stupid videos yet have no problem enjoying From I to V, that's why I don't see so much bias as you do.
Written by Slayer666 on 04.09.2012 at 14:37 This is the only good track from the album, I enjoy it a lot. Too bad the rest of the album can't even smell up to it.
Shows how much opinions can differ this is probably the rock bottom of Shining's music. Just awful awful performance, the riffs are a bad joke and the vocals just lazy. Tiden Läker Inga Sår could be worse but still not sure. The only song worth something was the first one.
Gave the track a listen - wouldn't say it's particularly great but still found it a half-decent listen bar the horrendous vocals; though sounded possibly metalgaze-y/post-metally to my ears. Couldn't particularly notice anything bar the vocals that was especially bad. What I bothered to watch of the video was pretty shit though
I think this is the best song on the entire album, the rest is really forgetable. The video is crap. The director must think that people are not used to see boobs, blood and suicide. Just look at the TV: Boobs, blood and suicide. Not shocking anymore.

I dunno, I like how the riffs are a lot lighter than what you'd expect from Shining, they work pretty well. I'm also digging that other dude's vocals a lot.
The first one just sounds like something that could've been on IV, but didn't make the cut for being too mediocre.

They sound like a tough guy trying too hard to be sensitive. Urgh. Actually... that's a good way to put it. Their entire last album is "trying too hard". Except the first track which actually felt natural. It might be close to confort zone but at least Kvarforth isn't experimenting and failing at it. The riffs are just all kinds of wrong in all the other tracks.
