The Sword - New Song Online
Stoner metal lords The Sword have released the first song off their forthcoming opus Apocryphon. You can listen to "The Veil Of Isis", the album's opening track, at this location and get a feel of the new album. Razor & Tie will release Apocryphon on October 22nd. Frontman J.D. Cronise talked about the song: "It's a little more metaphysical than a lot of our previous stuff. It talks a lot about cycles of nature and life and death and birth and transformation and death and rebirth."
"In essence, the song is about change, moving from one phase of the natural cycle to the next and the recognition of the knowledge revealed when such transitions occur. The lyrics make reference to Isis, the goddess of nature and magic, and her brother/husband Osiris, the god of the dead and the afterlife, as agents of those changes and keepers of sacred knowledge. The 'veil' is that which hides from us the true nature of the universe that, during our earthly existence, is largely hidden from us."

From the linked article: "Frontman J.D. Cronise calls the track the most "Sword-ish" song of the album musically..." Personally I'm quite looking forward to this, being a fan of all their albums to some degree. Loving the artwork as well

These guys are pretty great. I really liked their first three albums and Apocryphon starting to get me excited. I sounds like the old sword, should probably sell better than Warp Riders did, they rock.

Not sure about the song itself but these guys always have great guitar tone and production. By the way Isis and Osiris are not "The" gods but Egyptian gods from Egyptian mythology. Not to be a prick but ya might wanna mention that if you put them in your concept album
