Fen - New Album Details Unveiled

UK atmospheric black metal act Fen has announced details about their upcoming third full-length album. The seven-track album Dustwalker is set for release on January 21st through Code666 Records, and will be appear in both CD format and as a limited edition Clambox featuring a bonus track and pendant with the band's distinctive logo. The artwork for the album was handled by Fen's bass player Grungyn.

Dustwalker tracklist:

01. Consequence
02. Hands Of Dust
03. Spectre
04. Reflections
05. Wolf Sun
06. The Black Sound
07. Walking The Crowpath
08. Epilogue [special edition bonus]

Frontman The Watcher stated about the album: "If Epoch embodies a lonely walk into the deepening twilight of the fens in Autumn, then Dustwalker represents the cold, sharp greys of a bleak winter's dawn. An expression of isolation, abandonment and a gradual detachment from the material realm, this album is a starker, more direct representation of the Fen sound."

Badass artwork, this album should be awesome.

Epoch was good, I just hope that it doesn't sound like the drummer is in another room on this album.

Dunno why I feel that this will be more Post Rock and less Black Metal. We already have tons of that :\

There was a pre-production song released a while ago and it sounded excellent. Very much black metal. The news item is probably on their profile page. Hopefully it'll turn out like that.

Interesting and quite tasty, the thing that made Epoch kind of a disappointment is not that it's not a good album, it''s just that it pales in comparison with the mighty The Malediction Feilds.

I sometimes wonder if it was TOO good as I felt most similar styled albums and bands after it didn't quite live up to its excellence. Epoch was definitely a step too far into post territory though.

I do believe that it stands atop the Post BM pyramid and I'm trying to name another album from the same genre but I honestly can't
Epoch was indeed deep seated in the Post territory, everything about it including the production was post-ier than TMF and also missing the soul that TMF had.

I am so incredibly excited for this. Even though Epoch was a big step down from their amazing debut, I have high hopes that this will be better (than Epoch that is)
