Tool - Announce Australian And NZ Tour, Not Releasing Album In 2013
Tool have announced an Australian arena tour which will kick off in Melbourne on April 27th at Rod Laver Arena. Australians are set to see a lot of Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan in 2013 with his other 2 bands A Perfect Circle and Puscifer hitting out shores later this month for Soundwave and a tour respectively.
Tool will take time out from recording their fifth studio album to make the trip Down Under. The new album now has a 2014 expected release date after Keenan recently ruled out the album would be released this year. When asked by Radio Futuro if a new Tool album will be released soon, Keenan simply replied, "No new disc. Not this year... I have not written any songs. So no, there is nothing." The frontman is known for his media pranks, so anything is possible.
The last time Tool visited Australia was for the Big Day Out tour in 2011 when they headlined the festival alongside Rammstein. They haven't played their own Australian headline tour since 2002.
Members of Frontier Touring's website will have access to a pre-sale from next Thursday, 14th February at 12pm AEDT until noon the following day. General release tickets will go on sale from 9am local time on Tuesday, 19th February.

I tend to dislike how some bands try to build some hype around an album either constantly pushing back the release date or saying how it's gonna be the "bestest albums evaaaa" with thousands of teasers. It's useless and makes fan enter a state of brain-dead worshiping mixed with constant whining (see, Wintersun). Release the news it when it's done (or almost) and no problem. Not that I ever cared for this band anyway.

(Due to their popularity, they have tons of that brain-dead worshiping and whining going on already xD.) It's not their fault they constantly get asked the same question over and over again in interviews.

And just happened to pick up the Wintersun reference after their recent album, as I may have dropped any other over-hyped band. So the comparison seems kinda obvious and has nothing to do with musical criteria.
