Norwegian prog/avantgarde group Leprous has a treat for fans today: new music from their upcoming awaited new album Coal. After releasing the song "Chronic" last month, now it is time to listen to another piece, "The Cloak". So rejoice and watch the video released by the band today below.

Leprous said about the video: "A new Leprous video is in the making! We spent one very long day inside the Konnerud Hill Mines here in Norway, getting some very interesting footage. The video, just like the clip for 'Restless' on our previous album, was made by Twichty Films once again, but we promise you no fish or cake was harmed this time around. A dark, moist atmosphere, far into the deep..."

You can get your hands on the follow-up to Bilateral on May 28th in North America (May 20th in Europe) when InsideOut Music releases it unto the world. The wait is almost over. More album details here where you can stream "Chronic" and here.

Coal tracklist:

01. Foe
02. Chronic
03. Coal
04. The Cloak
05. The Valley
06. Salt
07. Echo
08. Contaminate Me

Pretty basic but weird at the same time, I like it.

Riverside managed to pull it off too - I was also really disappointed from their single (Celebrity Touch) and it turned out to be the only song I disliked in SONGS...

I'm willing to bet this will be a sort of "transitional track", or a mood changer, between "Coal" and "Valley".
It's not that I dislike it, it just feels like a filler.
Chronic was awesome though.

Strangely enough it felt a bit emotion-empty. Amazing vocals, however

Sounds like an actually good radio song.

Sounds fresh and I wouldn't have expected any less from them. Stoked for this one.

Really good song. Love the vocals.

This is different, which is good and usually that's what Leprous does. The new album should be good.

If this is a sign of the direction they are headed, I don't think I will have a hard time enjoying this album. I like the simplicity and slow build, amazing vocals as usual.

I could see why this may be disappointing to some as a single, especially since I think many of us expected something a bit more upbeat after "Chronic," but it's really a beautiful track. Those vocals are amazing, and I'm sure there will be a good share of heavier tracks throughout. My extremely high expectations haven't fallen at all.
