Necrophobic - Frontman Arrested, Responds To Allegations (Update)
UPDATE on 07.09.2013 [Thanks to Bad English]: Swedish death metallers Necrophobic find themselves in a difficult situation and have finally released an official statement regarding the abuse allegations concerning their vocalist Tobias Sidegård. Their comment was basically "no comment". As for the label Season Of Mist, they will adopt the same policy and will not comment any further.
The band states: "Due to current allegations regarding Tobias, we want to point out that we cannot comment on an ongoing legal process in Sweden. Necrophobic however does not condone domestic violence. This will be our only statement until legal matters have been resolved."
Original news, published on 05.09.2013: Necrophobic are on the news again, but this time it's not about the music. Metal Insider reported that the group's frontman Tobias Sidegård was in jail for 18 months on allegations of domestic abuse of his wife and children. However, this morning Tobias has sent an email with his version of the story, claiming that he's been innocently accused, is a free man, and will get his final judgment in two weeks. Things are getting messy.
In Swedish court documents and police reports obtained by Metal Insider, Sidegård's wife Linda was interviewed by police describing "incidents in which she was beaten by him multiple times and forced into oral sex with him. He also was charged with abuse for beating his daughters Tindra and Nova with a homemade bullwhip. There are other allegations against Sidegard in the court documents. Tindra claimed that when she was younger, her father would lock her and her mother in their room during the day while he slept."
Tobias Sidegård's defense was reportedly that he was on amphetamines when hitting his children and that striking them with a bullwhip was him kidding around.
Tobias Sidegård's response in email today: "Hey! I saw the shit you are writing on your page. I've been set free after second appeal in higher court. Will get my judgement in 2 weeks and did really well in court, sooo. Most of the stuff you are writing about is stuff that I haven't even been accused for. Some of it I even proofed being untrue in the investigation. The picture you put up shows a Infected eye and had nothing to do with me. I wasn't even charged for it in court. I've been fucking innocently accused and never hit a woman in my life. Take that link away straight away and apologize. What you're doing is called defamation and is illegal. I will sew your asses otherwise. Thanx. /Tobias."

Disagree with the stigma, hardly anyone remembers thy Jef Whitehead was arrested last year for assault on his girlfriend. (Which he was found innocent on)
