Gothic metallers Paradise Lost are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year and to mark this occasion, the band will release a compilation of B-sides, covers, and other rarities next month. Today the band has premiered the new version of their "Gothic" track. Check out "Gothic 2013" below.

The compilation Tragic Illusion 25 (The Rarities), available on October 21st in Europe (digitally on October 29th in North America), also features 3 previously unreleased recordings, including the brand new song "Loneliness Remains" and re-recorded versions of two of their early classics "Gothic" and "Our Saviour" (taken from 1991's Gothic and their debut Lost Paradise respectively). These three tracks will also appear on a white 10" vinyl, which is exclusive to Century Media's European distro and limited to 100 copies.

Vocalist Nick Holmes comments: "When the opportunity came up for us to re-record 'Gothic', we were really pleased because it meant that we could finally do the song justice (production wise) and Simon Efemey had the chance to give it his polish. 'Gothic' has often been considered a bench mark in our early career and it was good to revisit it."

Still I don't see why they don't release all their 'rare' tracks, Xavier for example. What comes to this track; Nick's voice is good, but the drums should stay there in the background. It was a mission impossible anyway for obvious reason; because the original version is&was brilliant. Disgusting cover art.

I will look forward to this release - thanks to MS and Bad English for this update! There are added European dates to the Tragic Illusion Tour through 13 Nov. as well. Continuing support by Lacuna Coil and Katatonia, who play the entire Viva Emptiness album at all shows.
