Daisy Berkowitz - Battling Colon Cancer
Former Marilyn Manson & The Spooky Kids guitarist Scott Mitchell Putesky, known by the stage name of Daisy Berkowitz, has revealed that he is currently battling stage-four colon cancer. The guitarist left the band in 1996, during the recording of Antichrist Superstar. He continues to make music to this day through various projects.
Putesky, who founded Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids with Brian Warner (aka Marilyn Manson) in 1989 in Fort Lauderdale, is largely responsible for helping to drive the goth scene in Florida. The band was signed to Trent Reznor's label Nothing Records, releasing Portrait Of An American Family in 1993.
Putesky, currently two months into a six-month round of chemotherapy, told WLRN.org that after experiencing pains in his abdomen for over six years he ended up in the emergency room where a colonoscopy revealed that he had colon cancer.
