Benighted - Set New Album Title And Release Date

The last album Benighted released was called Asylum Cave and came out in 2011. However, 2014 will be an important year for the band because it will see the release of their new album. Now we know that the group named their forthcoming album Carnivore Sublime. The seventh full-length of the French grind/death metallers will hit the stores on February 14th (February 18th in North America) via Season Of Mist. You can mark your calendars.

Carnivore Sublime includes guest performances by Niklas Kvarforth of Shining and Michael Kern of Carnal Decay. Do you have high expectations for it?

As previously announced, Benighted will join forces with death metallers Loudblast to brutalize the French territory next winter around the time of the album release.

Looking forward to this, but Asylum Cave was, on the whole, a disappointment for me. Hoping the new one has a bit more charm and grind to it.

Their debut is... interesting. It's kinda poorly produced high intensity brutal death metal.

But it does have arguably my favorite O Fortuna sample.

Sounds like black metal with a few death metal passages. Interesting, might have to check that out further as it sounds better than last time I checked it out.

I think that might actually pass as a better description for it. There are definitely some tracks that straddle the black/death metal line. Either way I think it's a pretty fun album. You can hear just about everything the band does now, just in a more raw/unrefined kind of way.
