Ever since Anathema released the album We're Here Because We're Here in 2010, the band's creative juices seem to be flowing non-stop again and after releasing another new album in 2012, the inspiration continues. The British band has returned to the studio and today was the first day of recordings for the next Anathema album in Oslo, Norway. Danny Cavanagh had previously hinted that the band was writing new material but the next phase is already underway.

Would you be happy with something along the lines of Weather Systems?

Day one and the next Anathema album recording has officially begun!
Many greetings from beautiful Norway!

I liked Weather Systems and We're Here Because We're Here. I hope that the next album will be just as good.

Yes I would, but preferably less Pink Floydish

As much as i like the last 2 albums i would like them to do something a bit different a bit darker and less "proggy". as "Alternative 4" still my fave album! But what a great Band!!!

I'm curious about what they do next. Can this band ever make a bad record? Not so far.

I like their sad shit better. Didn't care too much for weather systems. A Natural Disaster had the best mix of sounds IMO.

I hope for an album with less unresolved melody lines than weather systems. Although the mood is resplendent, the songs, with afew exceptions, never quite take off. And the lyrics were, as mentioned above, terribly mundane and cheesy, with childish rhymes, My favorite album is Judgement, but I'll take a combo of the best from the two last albums.
