SikTh - Performing At Download 2014

SikTh are among the new batch of bands confirmed for UK's Download Festival next year. While the fans would be hoping for a new album and full-on tour since the band disbanded in 2008, at least that's something. Volbeat, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Suicide Silence, Buckcherry, Memphis May Fire, Battlecross, Jake E. Lee's Red Dragon Cartel, Thy Art Is Murder, The Amity Affliction, Avatar, Lonely The Brave, Arcane Roots and Feed The Rhino are the other bands confirmed.

SikTh's Dan Weller commented: "We've always said that one day we would get SikTh back together and do another show and next year just feels like the right time to stop the talking and do it. To be honest we really miss playing those songs. Our fans have been so loyal so it's time to give them something back. We played Download in 2003 and 2006 so it seemed the obvious place for us to make a return."

Line-up announced so far: Aerosmith, Alter Bridge, Steel Panther, Linkin Park, Fall Out Boy, Status Quo, Avenged Sevenfold, Rob Zombie, The Offspring, Trivium, In Flames, While She Sleeps, Letlive, The Black Dahlia Murder, Miss May I, Crossfaith, Blesthefall, Dying Fetus, SikTh, Volbeat, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Suicide Silence, Buckcherry, Memphis May Fire, Battlecross, Jake E. Lee's Red Dragon Cartel, Thy Art Is Murder, The Amity Affliction, Avatar, Lonely The Brave, Arcane Roots and Feed The Rhino.

Download 2014 takes place from June 13th-15th, 2014 at Castle Donington in the United Kingdom.

What a waste. They should do Bloodstock instead. I suppose it was the 2006 Download where I saw them play so I guess it's fitting.

Would not go as far as to say that since I enjoy quite a few bands from that list but yeah, TDEP and SikTh (and maybe While She Sleeps) stick out there like a sore thumb .

Dying Fetus? Really? I mean good for them, this is a great opportunity to sucker in a bunch of teenagers and their parents' credit cards... but still. You're partaking in a festival headlined by Linkin Park, A7X, and Aerosmith.

Beggars can't be choosers I suppose.

Dying Fetus being there is the result of mass-internet insanity / inanity because one person said "Why not Dying Fetus?"

Whenever I ask "Why not [band]?" for shows in Toronto it never seems to work out.
