Agalloch are in the news again because now they have revealed the title of their new album as well as the official release dates. Recently, we discovered that their fifth full-length album was complete and it will be called The Serpent & The Sphere. The album was recorded at Cloud City and mixed at Everything Hz by Billy Anderson. The Americans will be working with an European partner for their new album release.

The Serpent & The Sphere will be released on May 16th (Germany) and May 19th (Europe) via Eisenwald and Profound Lore Records will handle the North American release, which is set for May 13th. Mark your calendars! What does the title suggest to you?

I try not to look forward to things because I usually end up disappointed but GOD DAYUM I'M EXCITED.

They're using a zinger and a waterphone on this album. What even?

"an European partner"

The title doesn't suggest anything to me. What would it be that it could suggest?

May release? Ballin'. Not sure what to make of the title - not that I really care so long as the music is good.

After their last EP, I was going to be really excited for this, but hearing that... eh, I don't know.

Their EP's are always different from their full lengths, and even their full lengths are different from each other. So i wouldn't compare how it might sound to that.
