Sonata Arctica - Release Lyric Video For New Single

The second single off of Sonata Arctica's new album is out in the open. The band just released a lyric video for the track "Cloud Factory", out of their upcoming Pariah's Child that will be out on March 28th via Nuclear Blast. After "The Wolves Die Young", this is the second taste of what the new opus will bring. Enjoy it below.

Commented vocalist and keyboardist Tony Kakko: "It has some kind of an ear-worm factor. It's not a bad thing to have in a single. A story about how dad already sees his young son going to work in the same factory he still goes and where his dad and dad's dad went before him, and how that pleasantly vicious circle never ends."

That was... not exactly what I would call good. Actually I think it's damn boring.

I thought they were going to launch into "Morning Glory" for a split second there.

The Evergreen

It's no Reckoning Night, but it's not sounding like SGHN either. In other words, a step in the right direction. Really it's more reminiscent of the Tricky Beans days, and that's probably not what most Sonata Arctica fans want. I'm okay with the idea but not excited.

I'm absolutely in love with this song. Can't stop singing it. Love the lyrical concept, as well.

Some bands are really hungry for cash... boy, talk about Manowar's last two where you can't hear the instrumental too well, this one seems to suffer from the same illness. Crap production... crap mixing...

I'd say this album is going to be a prime contender for most disappointing release of 2014, but that would imply I had any expectations to begin with. There's only so many expectations you can foster after 3 disappointments. This song is... it's a 4 chord song essentially. Listen to the keyboards. SA have released a song that, aside from the solo, is just as bland as a pop single.

Honestly, who gives a shit if it's super complex? I don't see why so many metal fans have to be such catchyophobes. It's a damn catchy song. That's the kind of music Sonata Arctica writes. Their music has never been terribly complex or brutal. They write upbeat, fairly speedy, accessible music.

Well, starting I was thinking worried, but the song ended and I just like it. SA surely has become a band like Children of Bodom, Metallica, Edguy and others, a band with a glorious past and a present not-so-well-received for the fans who enjoyed their past and most of them there won't be a way they give a dime about the new stuff they release. Some people will hate them and some other people will love them, the most objective ones just will enjoy the music as always, without being elitists, demanding or others.

I don't know why some people are so negative towards the songs from Pariah so far. I'm really digging them so far. This is the Sonata Arctica I wanted. To me, this feels like the good old days.

The most objective ones can distinguish between the good stuff they made and stuff what we are getting now. Which is not as good. Personal perception of quality is one thing but there some objective standards and in those SA has fallen. The group you described as objective ones are the most devoted fans who will listen to anything with SA logo on cover. I for one am disapointed in both singles released so far and I cannot expect anything good from new album either. Sadly.

You're right, it's never been all that complex. And yet this is simple even by pop standards. It's not particularly speedy either, it's pretty mid-tempo. Basically, it's like the old Sonata Arctica, except with worse songwriting and less speed. Yeah, the solo was good, but that's pretty much everything I can say about it. If you enjoy it, more the power to you.

For me, the problem with this song, is that it's not catchy, like many other song from Ecliptica to The Days Of Grays

Its a good song, not excellent but good. We have two good songs for now, but still not the old Sonata. We need some Ecliptica and Silence into the mix. A couple of awsome ballads, a couple of excellent mid tempo songs and double bass fast songs aswell. Something to awake us.

If you think this compares to Ecliptica and Silence your crazy. Those albums are my guilty pleasure they're like crack. This is decaf coffee
