18:32 - Clintagram I like the tempo of my drone to be the day-night cycle.
18:32 - flightoficarus In any case, under-respected band in that genre. Looking forward to hearing the EP.
18:30 - Lethrokai I think it was the cover of Tupelo that really sold the band for me. So much intensity out of nowhere.
18:25 - flightoficarus When Will The Forest Speak blew my mind the first time I heard it
18:20 - Redn1ght I bet if Doom makes me drowsy, Drone will make me fall asleep from the description given. ;)
18:15 - Dima needledrop is insufferable :( I can't stand his personality, mannerisms et cetera
18:14 - Lethrokai Tell me about it. SikTh had a special connection to this site for me, as it was Joe's staff pick that really introduced me to them with TTaDaDOWFSW (nice abbreviation btw) and I absolutely fell in love with it
Looks like melodic death metal might have a new diva. Alyssa White-Gluz - former vocalist of the band The Agonist has left the band to join Arch Enemy. While most bands would disband, The Agonist decided to move on and hired a new vocalist - Vicky Psarakis.
The band also released this statement about the reveal: "Today we announce that after 3 albums and countless tours we officially part ways with vocalist Alissa White-Gluz. We wish Alissa all the best with Arch Enemy and her future endeavors.
"It is the beginning of a new and exciting chapter for The Agonist! We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to the The Agonist family. Please give a warm welcome to very talented vocalist Vicky Psarakis! Stay tuned for new The Agonist material coming VERY soon!"
I'll be honest I don't know what to think about this, the reason I loved the Agonist so much was Alissa's back and forth style (the band only popped up on my radar because of her Kamelot collaboration). Vicky does sound really good but like Pitwulf, I want to hear the grunts and growls too given it's usually a pretty large part of their vocals.
You never heard this Nevermore song before? For shame! I'm glad I showed you one of their best songs then. Nevermore are one of my favourite bands so.
For shame indeed! My first Nevermore experience was The River Dragon Has Come, and I was hooked from that alone. Definitely one of their best songs, and from their best album.
The video does show promise for her singing potential, and she has other vocal covers and songs posted that feature her, but no freaking showcase of her growling. I'm starting to wonder if she is going to scream/growl at all, or just sing...???
