Rejoice DragonForce fans, since the band's new album, the follow-up to the successful The Power Within, has now been detailed. The album will be called Maximum Overload and it will be the band's debut album for new label earMUSIC, which will release it in the UK on August 18th, and it drops in the USA on Metal Blade Records on August 19th. DragonForce is also streaming a demo of a new track, "Defenders" (featuring Matt Heafy), which you can listen to below.

The album will see Trivium's Matt Heafy guest appearance on some tracks, and for the first time in the band's history, it will also feature a cover. Guess what song is it? No, you're wrong. The track covered will be Johnny Cash's "Ring Of Fire". Maximum Overload was produced by Jens Bogren at Fascination Studios in Örebro and Varberg. For further info and the band members' thoughts on the album and its cover artwork, head over to the band's official website.

There's enough to be excited about, don't you agree?

WHY DOES THE ARTWORK HAVE TO BE SO GODDAMN COMPLICATED?
Mr. Cheeky - 31.03.2014 at 15:13
I liked The Power Within so I'm pretty interested in how this will end up.
Defenders sounded promising.

Oh, that's right. You weren't here when they released The Power Within and suddenly proved themselves better than 99% of anything else power metal that year.

I am not a DF fan but I loved the previous one. hopefully this one will be even better. the new singer has potential if they keep the songwriting quality up.

Stopped listening to DragonForce years ago, due to lack of variety. This though sounds quite good. Nothing ground-breaking, but at least it is a little different.

Must've missed something... Hate the vocals, boring song. Same old same old.
SleepFan - 01.04.2014 at 01:04
Are they still SO FAAAAR AAAAAWAAAAY?!

That cover looks like a 80s video game cover.

I honestly can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. :/
Lord Grim - 01.04.2014 at 13:58
I'm glad I can't sing like that. My balls would be really sore. That's if they even existed at that point. I don't even know...
The Evergreen - 01.04.2014 at 14:54
The above named poster is a DragonForce fan.

What can I say, the cheese is delicious. Power Within will be hard to top, but they might just do it. My only concern... Johnny Cash? Really? Really? This had better be good...

The demo sounds like every other DragonForce song, so I love it!
