Indie Recordings has announced the re-signing of Norwegian black metal legion 1349. For the fans, the good news is that the band is finally releasing a new album to follow Demonoir (2010). 1349 will return with a new full-length album this fall. This album will be released on Indie Recordings throughout the world, except for North America, where Season Of Mist will be handling the album. It's happening!

To shorten the wait, the band has decided to bring a digital single titled Slaves to the market, in addition to a special 7", limited to 666 copies (of course). The single will be available on digital services from the 4th of April, the same day as the US tour starts with Behemoth, Inquisition and Goatwhore. So, this means you should expect to hear new music very soon.

A full European tour will follow later.

Comments the band: "We entered the studio with an idea of putting everything that 1349 has ever been about into a cauldron, stir it well, and pour in some fresh ingredients - as well as some strange old ones - and come up with our most potent elixir ever. And we brought the spirit to match the ambitious attempt. Boil, boil, toil and trouble...Behold! We have made the most delightfully intoxicating and dangerous potion you can dream of. FEEL THE FIRE! And Hail Hell."

How dare you compare averageness such as 1349 with the majesty that is Esoteric.

What Marcel said. 1349 are complete and udder garbage whereas Esoteric (and more specifically Greg Chandler) are gods of musical skill.

I beg for mercy

But seriously Demonoir was quite good (and Hellfire is still awesome) so I am just curious about which direction they are going to choose this time. I am waiting for some experiments (but maybe not another Revelations ) And I'm not comparing 1349 to Esoteric

1349 and experiments? That would be a first.

Not exactly a first.

Granted, not a particularly successful or relevant experiment, but still.

Demonoir was quite average, but Hellfire was all kinds of awesome.

So yeah, another Hellfire would be nice.

I love 1349. They make Marduk look like positively avant-garde.

By "love" I of course mean "can't stand" so won't be checking this out.
