Lascaille's Shroud - Announce New Release

Just three months after releasing its latest album, Interval 02: Parallel Infinities - The Abscinded Universe, progressive death metal project Lascaille's Shroud is announcing a new release, named Lascaille's Shroud Presents Curaga. This, however, won't be a conventional release. The music will be focused on the aggressive side of power metal, and the album's theme will be that of video games: "Final Fantasy 7", "Final Fantasy 9", "Metal Gear Solid", "The Witcher", "Bioshock" and "Beyond: Two Souls".

Vocal duties will be handled mostly by Project: Roenwolfe's Patrick Parris.

Brett Windnagle explained more about this new release: "A bit of good news for once, for quite some time I have planned a unique release of music featuring all the stuff I have not used in the past 10 years and all the music not compatible with Lascaille's Shroud. However, unlike my other project Soulmass, this will not be an entirely separate band I promote. Instead, this will be released under the LS name as Lascaille's Shroud Presents Curaga - It will feature a unique blend of music in a much more traditional and power metal vein, with a bit more aggression.

"Oh, and the theme? Video games. Yep, most of these songs will be indulging in two of my favorite past times; music and games. Featured games are, Final Fantasy 7 and 9, Metal Gear Solid, The Witcher, Bioshock, and Beyond: Two Souls. With a select few songs I will be writing based off several novels I adore, such as Pushing Ice and Leviathan Wakes.

"Demoing has begun, and material will be released as it's finished so there will be new songs popping up here and there. And lastly, the almighty Patrick Parris of Project: Roenwolfe will be handling most of the vocal duties, with some possible guest musicians if I should be able to get them. So enjoy this nice little picture of the almighty Atomos, because Atomos. And if any of you are wondering why Mass Effect wasn't mentioned....You'll have to wait for that."

Apart from Beyond: Two Souls being a piece of shit game, this sounds very interesting.

Beyond: Two Souls isn't really a game, though. Even the developers simply call it an "interactive drama", which is much more apt to me. But, I could make that argument all day - I am glad to see there are people here interested

I only like Bioshock out of all those games, but sweet otherwise.

Had I the time, it would most likely be totally indulged in 90's RPG's

This is a great way to get people to argue about Metal and games on the internet if I play it right, haha - two of the most argumentative fandoms

I'm not normally a power metal fan, but FFVII + MGS + Lascaille's Shroud sounds pretty awesome.

Your avatar would be a nice inspiration for music; love me some Mass Effect. I've been playing the trilogy for the third time. Simply a classic. Ahhh- just caught the ending; I guess I will have to wait for that.

It's more late 80's inspires, early BG, Scanner, Gamma Ray, things like that rather than anything modern.

I can handle that, perhaps it will be a curaga to my normal aversion to power metal
